Things I’m Loving This Month: November 2019

November honestly flew by and I can’t believe I am writing this monthly favorite post again! I feel like I was really thriving this month and enjoying being a little bit busy again. I don’t have a ton of favorites (which I think I say literally every month), but the ones I do have are really good. Keep on reading to see some of my favorites for November 2019.

Baublebar

I have talked about Baublebar a million times! They are my favorite shop to buy jewelry from, specifically festive and gaudy jewelry. I am the kind of girl that either wears no jewelry or is dripping in diamonds (not really but you know what I mean). I like Baublebar because they allow me to do both. I have some really beautifully made simple gold hoops from here and a pretty gold cuban link chain bracelet that I wear almost daily, but I also have beautiful giant heart earrings and rainbow earrings from here to. This is not even an ad, I just genuinely love their pieces!

Winc Wines

Earlier this month I did an ad for Winc and shared my latest box of wines I got in. I really was so happy with the wines I got from them. I finished 3/4 bottles and I was so happy to drink them. They were perfect for relaxing on a Friday night with some pizza and a terrible Netflix Christmas movie. You can use this link to get $22 off and complimentary shipping on your order which comes out to 4 bottles of wine for $39. This one IS an ad, but again, I really love their wines!

Headbands

I have showed you guys a ton of headbands this week and I can’t stop, won’t stop on that. I think they are probably the easiest way to dress up your outfit without having to do too much (same goes for earrings). I got a ton from Amazon and Baublebar recently and I am wearing them non-stop! I have a bunch linked in my Favorite Fall Accessories post that I did last week.

What I Wore This Week Blogs

I don’t know about you, but I am really enjoying sharing my weekly outfit recaps with you. It’s a nice way for me to look back on what I wore, how I was feeling and what was going on in my head that week. Plus it’s nice to have all my outfits from the week together in one place. Here is the link to some of my most recent outfit posts, here and here.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

I think this has been in my last 2 monthly favorites, but I have to say I really really am loving this. After using it for a few weeks, I am really seeing a difference in the overall look of my skin! It is softer, smoother and my acne scarring is not as prominent lately. I also feel like I have to exfoliate less often now (which is also partially due to my 10% lactic acid from The Ordinary). I think my skin in general is more glowy and I’m also feeling less oily throughout the day! I highly recommend this! Pricey but worth every penny.

Weekend In My Life: Rosé Mansion, NYC

Last weekend, I had a little outing with my friends to the Rosé Mansion in NYC which is a rosé wine themed exhibit that is considered one of the most instagrammable places in the city. You’re lying if you say if you haven’t seen it all over Instagram over the last year or so. I had put off on going here for a very long time but we finally took the plunge and decided to go and had a surprisingly good time.

This exhibit takes you through the history of rosé and you can do tasting of different wines from all kinds of different regions, from Italy to the Finger Lakes. There’s a rosé for everyone! It has 14 rooms, each with a different theme and always something fun to take photos with. This exhibit is famous for it’s bathtub filled with rose petals!

The exhibit costs $45 plus taxes and fees and that gets you entry into the exhibit, 8 wine tastings (about 1 ounce, which to me is skimpy for a wine tasting), a plastic wine glass to keep, and an enamel pin. If you’re like me, you really only went for the wine or the photos, the rest was pretty irrelevant. So I will be completely honest in saying that it’s too expensive to REALLY justify the experience. The wine was delicious, but if I’m spending $45 on it, I want at least 4 ounce pours for each tasting which is pretty standard at any vineyard you go to. On top of that, it is insanely crowded with literal hoards of women trying to get the perfect Instagram photo. Now I’m not saying I didn’t get my fair share of photos, but was it worth it to wait in line to sit in that bathtub of rose petals? Probably not.

Now I’m not intentionally being negative, I just wanted to give my honest opinion. I will say I had a surprisingly good time which is probably because of the people I went with and the wine I drank. I had really low expectations for this experience, so it wasn’t hard to exceed them. With that being said, I would not ever go again, but if you’re looking to try it out, I wouldn’t tell you NOT to go. It’s a personal preference, and this experience was not for me!

New Fall Winc Wine: Honest Review

After taking a month off from drinking, I am back sharing a review of my most recent order of wine from Winc. I partnered with Winc a couple of months ago for the first time and I was so excited that they asked me to work with them again. Thank you to Winc for sending me a few more bottles of wine to try out!

One thing I like about Winc is that you can rate and review your picks from the previous month so that your wines can be better curated to your taste for the following month. I found this really helpful because I was really unsure what I wanted to try this time around. I decided to take the quick six question quiz again but instead of ordering 2 white and 2 reds, I went with 3 reds and 1 white because I prefer reds in general. Thank goodness I picked more reds, because I think this box was curated perfectly for me!

Because I took a break from drinking, I’m slowly reintroducing it into my life and I’m also realizing that my taste has changed slightly. I definitely prefer something a little bit drier, bolder and fruity. Winc recommended the 2018 Mercana Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina and it is the perfect red for me. The flavor is bold, just like I want and it’s a perfect balance of fruity and dry. I personally would love the marinate a steak in this wine with some soy sauce, salt, pepper, garlic, parsley and olive oil and I think it would be so delicious!

I also tried the Sauvetage Rose wine and that was also delicious. It was a drier pink wine which I loved. Usually I find rose wine too sweet and I never really like that. I think this would pair really nicely with a lobster roll in the summer, because #lovesummerhateeverythingelse amirite. It was so yummy and not too fruity either. I’m not a big fan of rose wine, but this one was definitely a big hit for me!

The two other wines I got were the Matchlock Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles, CA and the Les Bobos Grenache from France. I’m looking forward to trying the Cabernet because one of my favorite wines of all time is the Paso Robles blend of Cabernet by Josh so it’ll be great to compare the two! I’ve also never had Grenache so that will be exciting to try something that is totally new for me.

If you are looking to try out some new wines for the fall and upcoming holiday season, I highly recommend checking out Winc! They have a great variety of wines to try and they make the experience so personalized. It’s definitely worth it to receive a box of wines that has been perfectly curated to your taste. Using this link here, you can get $22 off plus complimentary shipping on your order which comes out to 4 bottles of wine for just $39! It’s an amazing deal, so definitely be sure to check out Winc!

My Full Winc Wine Subscription Review

Hello Everyone! This week we’re getting a bonus blog post so I can share my full review of the company Winc and their products. As you may know Winc is a wine subscription company, and I am a HUGE fan of wine. I have actually been really interested in this company for a few years now, so I was very excited when they reached out to me to try their wines so I thought I would also share a review on my blog about what I liked about them. I’d also like to thank Winc for partnering with me and sending me some wines to try out!

In order to get your first box, you go online and fill out a super easy 6 question quiz. They ask questions such as “How do you take your coffee?” and “Do you like citrus?” to help figure out your palette. From there, they will recommend 4 wines for you based on your answers. What I liked is that you can choose to get 2 red and 2 whites or you can switch it up and get 3 reds and 1 white or all 4 red or whatever you want! You also have the option to skip a month of the subscription if you need to.

After I placed my order, it only took a few days to ship which was great. Because it’s a wine subscription, you do have to have someone 21+ available to sign for the package when it arrives. Luckily, they partner with Fedex pick up locations to allow you to pick up your package there instead of having it delivered to your house and potentially missing the package.

I also really liked that they offered you a few recipe options to go with the wines that they recommended for you. It’s helpful if you’re still learning about wine and you’re not quite sure what to pair them with. They also share the tasting notes on the website and more details about the wine so you can learn about it before you drink them!

I thought the wines they selected for me were spot on based on what I normally drink. My favorite is red wine and they picked the Chophouse Cabernet Sauvignon and the Rosa Obscura Red Blend and both were delicious! Cabernet is my one true love, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the red blend. I also got two whites, both were Sauvignon Blanc, and both delicious also. I’m not big on white wines, but I felt these two were the kind of wine I would have chosen for myself if I was picking out a white wine.

If you click my link here you can receive a $22 discount plus complimentary shipping which means you’ll get 4 bottles of wine for just $39 delivered right to your door. Winc is such a cool service if you’re a big wine drinker like I am, so I highly recommend checking them out and trying out a few new wines!
