What I Wore This Week: 12/2/19 – 12/7/19

The first week back after a holiday break is always the hardest, even as an adult. It was a busy week/weekend so this week was interesting for me trying to get back into a good routine. It wasn’t particularly busy, although I did have a few little commitments to take care of. It was sort of relaxing, while also a bit stressful trying to readjust. As a reminder, you can see all my outfits in real time on my Instagram stories, which is linked at the bottom of every blog post!

Monday

This was my first day back at work after a long holiday weekend and a quick trip to Philadelphia. I wasn’t really tired or anything, but my mind was definitely not all there. This should be a busy week at work because we have an event at the end of the week, but luckily Monday wasn’t too crazy. I got a good amount of sleep and was looking forward to a good day on Monday, and my outfit reflected that! I didn’t try too hard, but I was definitely in the mood to try something new and also wear something other than loafers.

Tuesday

This was a great day for creativity! My creative juices were really flowing and I was so excited to get moving on a few projects I’ve decided to work on. I got some more details for a new collaboration I’ll be working on this month, plus a *GIVEAWAY* which is really exciting for me. It’ll be my first giveaway ever, so it’s definitely a learning experience. More details on this soon! I also was feeling excited about creating new content for 2020. One of my goals will be to diversify my content and just overall, be more creative and curated in my approach to my blog and Instagram. I want both to be a place that I’m proud to show off my creative side and test out my new skills. I have a few ideas I want to start with, and I’m sure it will only spark even more ideas as the weeks and months go on. December isn’t over yet, but I feel really excited about the next year.

Wednesday

This day was a bit busier at work and I was also completely exhausted from staying up a little bit too late the night before so needless to say it was kind of rough. I wanted to be comfy, relax and potentially nap. I spent a little bit of time doing some Christmas shopping also (now that all the sales are over, of course) and found a super cute white elephant gift for my company holiday party. Honestly, hoping I get to keep it! I also felt like I needed cookbooks for when I move in the next few months, so I got those as gifts to myself, I guess. I also tried the Irish Cream cold brew and it’s pretty yummy! The flavor gets a little funky if it sits out too long like mine did (because I take 8 hours to drink my one cup of coffee), but it was still good! Overall good day mentally, even though my outfit was a little frumpy.

Thursday

My outfit for this day is a little funky because I had an event to go to for work this evening and I didn’t really feel like wearing my blazer and heels all day long. So please don’t mind my Uggs in this photo. It was a busy day getting things prepared for the program and ultimately a really long day. However, the program went really well! Other than that I think this day was pretty uneventful.

Friday

Friday was nice I got to come in to work a little bit later due to how late the program the night before ran. I have to be honest, getting a full 8 hours of sleep during the week was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I wish I could do that every! However, after a few hours, I was completely exhausted. It was literally like night and day, the change in my energy level from 7:00 am to 11:00 am. I wanted to be comfy this day and honestly, my outfit Friday was one of my favorites for the entire week. It just felt like one of the outfits that I would normally wear every day. Back to my regular old self.

Saturday

Saturday turned out to be a crazy crazy day. Andrew and I started off the morning with some brunch with our friends and it was so much fun! The food was really good, we had a few good drinks and just hung out and caught up. After that we just relaxed and watched some movies until dinner time. We decided to make some pear & prosciutto pizza so we went off to Stew Leonard’s to pick up some ingredients. We had actually never been to Stew Leonard’s before so it was a really interesting trip in itself, but once we got all our ingredients we went over to the Stew Leonard’s Wine and Spirits store also. We got out of the car, everything locked and ready to head inside when I realized that I not only locked my keys in the car, but the car was STILL RUNNING. Luckily, my mom was home and we were close enough that she could bring me a spare key, but holy heck was that embarrassing. Not my finest hour.

What I Wore This Week: 11/25/19 – 11/28/19

I am back again with my What I Wore This Week Series! This past week was the week of Thanksgiving, so the beginning of the week was nice and relaxed cozy outfits for work and then end is more fun, festive looks to celebrate the holidays! I didn’t include the weekend on this one because we went to Philadelphia and I have a blog post coming that features all those outfits, plus what we did. Be on the look out for that post this Thursday and keep on reading to see what I wore this week!

Monday

Monday again! Similar to last week, I was dealing with a horrible headache from the weekend that just won’t quit so I wanted to be really comfy today. I opted for this super cozy sweater and jeans with my new favorite loafers. I also added socks because my ankles are always cold standing on the train platform in the morning. I’m unsure if I love the socks or hate them and I genuinely think that is the appeal of them. One thing that I really love about myself is it’s not often that I feel self-conscious about what I’m wearing.

Tuesday

This Tuesday morning, I woke up feeling a little tired and a little bit like I didn’t want to wear my cute outfit. I was feeling just slightly off this morning. However, I decided to just push through and wear my cute outfit that I planned the night before and I am so happy I did! It was seriously so cute. I wore basically all green and my new green plaid coat that I’m obsessed with and it was such a ~lewk~. I also feel like it made me feel much more productive. Does anyone else feel like that? Sometimes when I wear an outfit that I feel really good about, I truly feel like I can conquer anything.

Wednesday

Thank goodness for a half day! Since it was the last day of work just before a holiday, I wanted to be comfy and cozy so I could relax and feel productive. My wonderful boyfriend got me this sweatshirt from his job earlier this week, so I decided to throw that on with a pair of jeans and some mule loafers for the ultimate comfy-but-still-put-together outfit. I also didn’t want to feel too sloppy, so I decided to wear my big gold hoops to feel more put together. I have to be honest, I am really into jewelry lately and I think I want to really invest in some nice every day gold necklaces, earrings, rings and probably also bracelets but no guarantees on that one. I think it’s such a good way to dress up an outfit. A few weeks ago, @sincerelyjules posted a photo of her wearing a bathing suit, I think, but with a ton of jewelry and I literally said “Wow that’s a cute outfit” before I realized it was a bathing suit. Accessories make a huge difference!!

Thursday

This day was Thanksgiving dinner at my boyfriend’s family’s house so my outfit is a little more dressy than normal but I still wanted to be comfortable. I got this skirt recently at Target to use for another blog post and I realized that I really like it! It was great to wear for a family dinner and tuck a sweater in also. On another note, the dinner was so yummy. Thanksgiving in my favorite holiday and it was so special to get to spend it with Andrew and his family. Definitely the best one yet!

What I Wore This Week: 11/18/19 – 11/23/19

I got some great feedback on my What I Wore This Week post from last week, so we are back again! I really enjoy these posts because they are easy to do (since I take photos of my outfits everyday anyway) and they are an easy way to look back at what I was doing/feeling/thinking/wearing that week in my life. If you remember, I started this blog to act as a little journal of what is going on in my life post grad so things like this are a great way to remember. Keep on reading to see what I wore last week!

Monday

Starting with Monday, I’ll have to be honest I was not feeling my best today. I was still battling a hangover from going out on Saturday night *face palm* and could barely function enough the night before to pick out my outfit. So what I came up with is basically the exact same outfit I wore on Friday the week before but wearing the sweater I wore out on Saturday night cause it was super cozy. Whatever, sue me. However, once I was functional again, I realized I really liked this outfit and tucking the sweater in was such a cute styling detail on my part.

Tuesday

I was really excited for my outfit today because with my coat and scarf (not shown because I didn’t think to include it in my picture??) it looked so cute. I had painted my nails a pretty forest green the night before and decided on wearing this cozy navy sweater and my navy wool coat because I love blue and green together. Then I decided that I also love blue and black/dark gray so I though to wear these jeans and the boots also because it was comfy and cute all at once. AND THEN I added a red plaid scarf because I love red and navy blue together, but I also realized that the scarf had forest green stripes in it and it was like everything was right in the world.

Wednesday

This day, I woke up feeling so tired that I just wanted to be comfy and cozy so I decided to wear my comfiest black jeans with this hugely oversize sweater, but leave it untucked so it was less styled and more about comfort. I also keep on wishing I had knee high black boots that don’t have a heel so I can wear them when it’s cold, so I put on my Doc Martens instead because it’s the closest alternative I own. Note to self: PLEASE buy flat black boots so you can be warm and also cute!!!!

Thursday

This day I woke up not feeling too great. I was feeling uninspired and just generally in a bad mood. I always get really frustrated around the holidays and today I was really feeling it. But instead of shutting myself down and closing out, I decided to just talk about how I was feeling to someone and it truly helped me feel better within a few minutes. I can really struggle to pull myself out when I’m in a bad mood, but I genuinely feel like when I push myself to talk about it, I’m always better off in the end. For my outfit, I had no idea what to wear, forgot all my accessories and was basically not having it today, so I decided to keep things neutral and a little boring if you ask me. I’m feeling so uninspired lately when it comes to my outfits and I’m in desperate need of a way to get back in the groove of styling again!

Top: Target / Jeans: Topshop / Boots: Urban Outfitters

Friday

This day I was so excited about my outfit, you have no idea! It was a day where I actually felt like I put something today and it felt like it was my sole idea, without looking at anyone else for inspiration. I was feeling really good about this one! Overall, I actually didn’t feel too great this day, I was tired and just ready to have the weekend to relax. And while I actually did not even relax over the weekend, it was nice to not be at work for 2 days!

Saturday

On Saturday I went to a birthday party in Brooklyn at the Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club so I wanted to be comfy, but still look cute. So after several outfit changes, I finally decided on this one and I was pretty happy with it until I got to the place and there was 3 other girls wearing the same outfit! How embarrassing! I genuinely thought I had on a pretty unique outfit so I was in for a surprise. But I looked around and saw like 6 other girls wearing matching outfits (unclear if it’s on purpose or not) so I basically just got over it and laughed it off. Still a cute outfit, though!

Simple How to Style: Mom Jeans at a Baseball Game

A few weeks ago, I went to a Mets Game with Andrew for his birthday so I decided to share what I wore to it. It was super easy and simple, but still felt cute and sporty. I also had a minor accident that day, so keep reading if you want to cringe and possibly laugh!

For my outfit, I decided to keep this super simple by just pairing one of my favorite pairs of mom jeans from Topshop with a basic ribbed tank top from Target. These tanks are pieces that I always have in my closet, but honestly forget about because I always try to dress up more. However, they are awesome layering pieces and they are also great for hot days when you just want to be casual. They’re super versatile! I also paired them with this pair of Camila sandals from Steve Madden that I got last summer. These are some of my favorite sandals and I have them in 3 colors! Mine are sold out, but these are similar from Treasure & Bond and ON SALE FOR 40% OFF!

Jacket: Forever 21 / Top: Target / Jeans: Topshop / Shoes: Steve Madden

Now for the fun/scary part! We decided to take the train over to the game because we thought it would be easier than driving since we were also meeting out friends for dinner before the game. We were heading up to the train platform on the escalator and I was walking up like any normal human being would do. About half way up, I tripped over my sandals and felt head first onto the escalator steps. My head hit the edge of the escalator step hard. I quickly got up and immediately started crying out of shock, but realized shortly after that my head was bleeding! We rushed back down from the platform and headed straight to urgent care where they were able to stitch me up right away. Honestly it was such a freak accident because it’s something you never even think of as a possibility, but it happened! To me!

Post Head Injury!

After I got stitched up, we got some buffalo chicken pizza cause we were starved and obviously couldn’t make it to our original dinner plans. The doctor gave me the okay to go to the game as long as I was up for it, so a few hours later we decided to carry on with our plans. The game ended up being very exciting. Lots of great hits by the other team, but the Mets got a few home runs in there too! In the end, the Mets lost but we had a lot of fun. We also watched the whole game so we could see the fireworks afterwards which was another nice treat!

Fireworks!

Overall, I’d say it was a great weekend, even with the scary fall. My main tip to you is to always wear closed toe shoes when you’re walking up the escalator and hold on to the handrail! I hope you enjoyed this read! xx
