My Exciting, Romantic Weekend Getaway in Punta Cana

About a week (and a half) ago, I went on a really nice, romantic vacation with my sweet boyfriend to Punta Cana and I’m finally getting around to writing about it. Keep on reading to hear all about our first real baecation!

To start, we stayed at the Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana which is a 4 star all inclusive resort. It was really nice and we were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The service was top notch, and we felt like we were always treated well! We were also pleasantly surprised by how big the rooms were too which was a nice extra surprise. The resort in general was small, and didn’t have a lot of guestrooms so it was very cozy and intimate. We spent a lot of time seeing the same people, which was comforting, though a little weird at first!

The only thing we were really not that thrilled about was the food. We felt that there was only 2 good restaurants for dinner and we were really underwhelmed by the breakfast and lunch options. The resort also always had tons of activities going on throughout the day. You could relax at the beach or by the pool or you could participate in yoga on the beach, water aerobics, a foam party or so many other activities. Plus every night, they had a themed show! Our first night was a rock and roll themed show and another night was belly dancing. It was really cool actually and the performers did an excellent job!

We also did an excursion where we went snorkeling/diving, parasailing, and swam in a natural pool. That was a lot of fun! Andrew did the diving but I was too scared to. He got some great pictures down there which was really exciting for him. Parasailing was also a lot of fun, it just felt like floating up in the air and was not scary at all. Plus swimming in the natural pool was relaxing and a great way to end the excursion.

I think overall, we had a great trip and it was a really nice and relaxing way to spend time together. It was our first big vacation together and it could not have gone better! We would love to head back there with friends again one day, but we’re already thinking about where our next trip should be! Any ideas?

Traveling to Greece: Athens, Santorini, and Mykonos

Over the last few weeks I went on one of the biggest vacations I’ve been on in a few years. This was a trip that I had been looking forward to for the last 6 months so it was really exciting once it finally came. I went to Greece for the first time ever and visited some really beautiful places in the process. I’m very thankful for such a wonderful experience and I’m looking forward to possibly going back someday.

Athens

Our first stop on this trip was in Athens which was a good experience but definitely not the best. As for the ruins, they were absolutely beautiful and it was so interesting seeing history right in front of my face. It’s truly amazing what the ancient Greeks were able to do and the lasting culture they built. We saw the Acropolis which includes the Parthenon. We also saw the original Olympic stadium and explored the rest of the city. This was also where I had my first authentic Greek salad! It wonderful seeing all the ancient ruins, but unfortunately, it was city that I couldn’t feel very safe in. I constantly felt like I had to watch my back everywhere I went, which made it a bit unpleasant. With that being said, it was still a wonderful part of the trip, but I would do my best not to return to Athens.

Mykonos

I’m the kind of person that is happiest laying on the beach, under a beach umbrella, with a drink in my hand and alternating napping and swimming in the ocean. So naturally, Mykonos was my favorite place. We sort of took a break here and just relaxed. We did a little bit of exploring but mainly stayed at the pool and the beach which is exactly what I needed, personally. This island is so beautiful and I highly recommend going here if you can! It was the best experience.

Santorini (Thira)

Santorini was another really beautiful island and I would definitely go back here. Similarly to Athens, it was a place where I felt I had to be much more cautious but not to the same extent as in Athens. One thing I loved about Santorini was that you can see the ocean no matter where you are on the island. The history of the island was also interesting, considering the little cities are built surrounding an active volcano! We explored all over the island, from the famous Fira and Oia to the vineyards for a wine tasting and back to the red and black sand beaches. It was absolutely beautiful and I would highly recommend this island to anyone who wants to take a trip to Greece!

Greece Vacation Makeup

Now that my trip to Greece is over, I thought I would share how I did my make up for this trip. I knew that I would be busy walking around all day, exploring so I didn’t want to wear a whole lot of makeup during this trip, but I still wanted to look fresh and put together. I kept it very simple this time! Keep reading to see what I did!

To start, after doing my regular skin care routine, I made sure to put sunscreen on every single day. The Mediterranean sun shows no mercy, so it’s super important to put at least SPF 30 on any body parts that will be exposed to the sun.

I also used my Too Faced Hangover Rx Primer Spray to prime my face for the day and keep my skin hydrated. For concealer, I used the Too Faced Born This Way Sculpting Concealer in Warm Beige. This is one shade darker than I normally use because I wanted it to match my skin after I got a little bit tan! (edit: realized I needed like 2 shades darker after I shot this, so I went and exchanged the shade before I left to accommodate for my tan!) I used this under my eyes and on my cheeks, because I have a little bit of acne scarring. I set everything with my Laura Mercier Translucent Powder.

For the rest of my face, I kept it very simple and used my Colourpop cream blush. I had a few shades, so depending on how I was feeling that day, I switched it up! My favorite is Quarters because it’s a pretty orangey shade and it compliments my skin tone really well. I also used my Becca Liquid Shimmering Skin Perfector for highlighter. I brought the shades Champagne Pop and Topaz with me and just alternated which one I used depending on the day.

For my brows, depending on how I was feeling/how much time I had, I used either my Anastasia tinted brow gel or I used my Anastasia Brow Definer pencil and set it with clear mascara. Lastly, I used my Diorshow Lash Primer and Volumizing Mascara and my L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black for my eyelashes and finished everything off with my trusty Carmex Chapstick. I brought a few lipglosses with me for days when we went out to a nicer dinner, but I ended up not really using any lip products on this trip.

That’s my very simple, Greek vacation make up look. I hope you enjoyed!

My Go-To Vacation Outfits

Today, I’m sharing a few of my go-to vacation outfits because, well, I’m on vacation right now and probably wearing one of these. Keep reading to see what I would normally wear for vacation!

Outfit #1

For a big day of exploring and roaming around, you can bet that I’m probably wearing shorts and a t-shirt for it. This is a staple in my everyday life, so of course it’s a staple on vacation! I also like to use a mini backpack for vacation to carry all my items around with me. Throw on some comfy sneakers, and we’re good to go!

Outfit #2

For a nicer evening out, I would probably wear some jeans and a pretty top. I went with this one that I got on sale last summer and some white jeans with these wooden platform heels. It’s cute, it’s simple and it’s comfortable especially if you’re in a city where you walk everywhere.

Outfit #3

This is an absolute favorite for exploring also. There’s nothing better than throwing on a maxi dress and walking around a new and beautiful city. I paired it with sandals, but you can always throw on sneakers instead. Bring a denim jacket for if it gets chilly in the evening.

Outfit #4

This cute romper is another alternative for a day of exploring into a nice dinner at night. It’s comfortable (except when using the bathroom) and it’s easy to throw on, but still nice enough that you can wear it for a nice dinner too! It’s also fun for if you plan on going somewhere that’s “instagrammable” such as the Pink Palace in Greece or the Color Factory in New York City.

Outfit #5

This one is a great mix of casual for the day, but still comfy and put together for night time. The trousers are really light and breathable so you’re not sweating your butt off, and the simple tank top keeps it really casual. The sneakers also tone down the look, but you can always add some nice sandals if you need to dress it up a bit more.

Miami Beach Vacation Outfits

If you didn’t know from my┬áMiami Packing Essentials post a few weeks ago, I went on vacation to Miami Beach, FL. We stayed at the Confidante which is part of the Unbound Collection by Hyatt Hotels (you’ll eventually realize that Hyatt is my favorite hotel chain). I had the most amazing time with a few of my friends, just relaxing on the beach or by the pool, having a few drinks, laughing, tanning and just enjoying each other’s company. We spent most of our time relaxing but I did manage to get out of my bathing suit a few times so I thought I’d show you a few of my outfits.

The first day we arrived we mainly just went to the beach and had a few drinks so we were preparing to be in full relaxation mode. We also went out to the Wynwood area for dinner and had some delicious tacos at Coyo Taco. They were SO yummy!

The following day I went to the Miami Seaquarium and saw basically every show they had for the day! It was fun because I’ve never been to an aquarium before so it was cool to see how big those animals are in real life. It was unreal!

That same night we also went out to the club because what else do you do in Miami? We went to LIV, of course, so I had to put on this super cool sparkly dress. I actually borrowed it from my friend!

The next day, we were all so exhausted so we decided to just relax by the pool and have some drinks. It was really nice out this day so we got some great tanning time in and even made good friends with the bar tenders. They told us about a few good bars to go to in South Beach too!

On our second to last day, we went out to celebrate a friend’s birthday with dinner at Komodo. It was also Miami Spice, which is similar to Restaurant Week in New York, and got a really great deal on our meal! It also helps that the food was absolutely delicious.

Finally, it was our last day and our flight was in the afternoon so we got up bright and early and went to the beach one last time. Seeing the early morning sun was beautiful and very satisfying knowing that we had an amazing trip. I’m so thankful that I was able to spend that quality time with my friends, create new memories, and have new experiences with them!
