What I Wore This Week: 1/6/20 – 1/10/20

This week started off a little bit slow, but I have big plans to make it a productive week! I took advantage of having some time to relax over the weekend with no plans and got some work done, watched some Netflix and made some returns at the mall. This month, I want to get a head start on reaching my goals and putting as much work in as I can so that’s what we can look forward to this week! I’ll be linking as many items as possible again in this post so you can shop the ones you love! Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and follow me on Instagram @karenmauritzenn to see these outfits in real time!

Monday

Oh goodness what a sleepy Monday. I was definitely not feeling my best this morning, but I’m not going to let that keep me from being productive and getting some work done. I might need a little extra coffee, but I’ll do what it takes. Some things on the agenda for today include writing a ton of blog posts that I prepped on Sunday night, finalizing my plans for my birthday, redoing my budget for the next few months, and looking up some blogger events coming this month. One thing that’s on my mind today is how important what I do over the next few months is going to be. The work that you put in now might not be exciting, but seeing the result later on makes it worth the trouble. A few of my goals that I’m working on for the next 6 months or so is saving as much as I can before I move into an apartment, paying off as much student loan and credit card debt as I can before moving (to help improve my credit score), and growing my blog and Instagram following to 350 and 2,500 respectively. For me, I know these goals take a ton of discipline, focus, and passion to achieve so I’m starting right away to get myself there.

Tuesday

To be completely honest, this feels like it’s setting out to be the worst week of my life. 2020 has not been kind to me so far, I’ll tell you. I wrote over the last few weeks that I had a wonderful 2019 and I am really looking forward to the coming year. But so far, I just feel completely miserable and really not happy at all. It’s really hitting me this week that I need to make some changes, but I am completely at a loss of how to make those changes successful. I don’t feel like I have the skills, knowledge, or experience to make them and frankly no one really cares unless you have those. So far it’s been tough and I can’t even pretend that I tried to be positive about it. I fell deep into a negative hole and am struggling to pull myself out of it right now. Maybe I set my expectations too high or maybe I just thought it would be easier or maybe I thought this year would be as good as last year. It looks like we might be in for a year of struggles.

Wednesday

Well I have to say, today was much better than yesterday. I was in such a depressed hole yesterday, I had no idea if I’d ever get out of it. Although I didn’t wake up feeling immensely better, I did feel a little bit more open to being positive which made a huge difference I think. Nothing really went wrong, so it was a pretty good day. Things were busy at work today which helped keep me distracted. I also paid about $7 for my latte at Starbucks today which was horrifying. It tasted like dirty water so needless to say, I’m sticking with my regular unsweetened cold brew, that is still also extremely overpriced. I got some packages in this week also so I’m planning to shoot a big haul of all the things I got recently to put on my IGTV. I have to figure out how to edit that sort of thing, but I’m hoping Andrew will help me with that over the weekend! I’m back to feeling good about putting out new content, so hopefully I’ll get my creative juices flowing again.

Thursday

Today has the potential to be a really great day and yet I feel myself getting discouraged. I woke up feeling good and excited for the day, but I really easily let certain frustrations get me down. This week has been particularly difficult for me to keep my head up about certain things. I know that I really need to just be patient and make sure I do what I need to be doing, but it feels like I’m getting no where. I hope that this phase of life doesn’t last too long because I can feel that it’s truly taking a toll on my mental health, but we’ll have to wait and see. As for everything else today, it should be a light easy day. It’s super cold in NYC today, so I wore this really beautiful heavy sweater and I love it so much. It’s one of the coziest sweaters I own and it’s worth every penny. I got it last week and it’s currently sold out, but I have a feeling it will restock!

Friday

Happy Friday! I’m happy to say that this week is finally over and I’m looking forward to relaxing tonight and getting ready for a relaxing weekend but also doing some much needed blog work. I’m hoping today will be pretty light and easy, not too busy but we’ll see. Andrew and I are getting some dinner in the city tonight to test out a few places I am thinking of going to for my birthday next weekend. I’m having such a hard time deciding if I want to actually do anything for my birthday but I also feel like I’d regret not doing something. Does anyone else struggle with this?? I decided that if I like these places tonight, I’ll have a little birthday party and if not then I guess we’ll just skip it this year. Stay tuned! I’m doing a whole blog post about what I ended up doing for my birthday!

What I Wore This Week: 12/30/19 – 1/3/20

It’s another holiday week and I also have some days off from work this week which is really nice! I’m ready to relax at home, get a TON of blog work done and enjoy my time off. Being that I’m home this week, there’s not going to be too much getting dressed this week I gotta say, but I promise I did my best to put some kind of outfit together each day. Sometimes it’s nice to just be super casual and not care too much about how you look! I linked as many items as I could but a ton of this stuff is old and sold out. Please note that these are affiliate links so the retailer may pay me a commission for any purchases made via the links below at no additional cost to you!

Monday

I was home all day and it was really raining, but I had a few errands to run so I decided to get dressed for that stuff which was good. I really had a lot of work to do for the blog, but with the rainy weather, it makes it hard to do photos outside or inside. I took some time to edit photos I took over the weekend and rearranged my week to make sure I had time to take the other photos I needed to do. I had a few returns to make, tons of packages to open and lots of planning and writing for the next few weeks. I love Mondays where I can feel productive, get lots of work done and get off to a good start to the week and this was definitely one of those weeks!

Tuesday (New Year’s Eve)

I feel like I was rushing around like a crazy person all day today trying to make sure I got all my tasks done before getting ready to celebrate the new year. In the morning I got ready and shot some outfits for upcoming blogs (in the backyard because no one was available to assist), I went to the gym, ran to Target to pick up a few things, came home and ate lunch before getting ready to head to a NYE party. It was super busy, but I got everything done! Andrew and I spent the night at his sister’s apartment after hanging out with some friends, really good food, and our own homemade margaritas! It was so much fun and I’m so happy that this is how we rang in our New Year! Unfortunately, none of the clothing items were available because they are really old so there’s no links for those, but my shoes are on sale!

Wednesday (New Year’s Day)

I spent all day sort of doing nothing, sort of being busy on New Year’s Day. I started the morning with Andrew from the night before and we had a yummy breakfast and watched some TV. We watched a few episodes of Schitt’s Creek and Shark Tank, which we’re really into this past week! After that I met with my dad and spent about 2 hours with him before going to grab lunch at Corelife Eatery, my favorite “fast food” place. I got the yummiest steak salad and got the veggies my body was craving after 2 weeks of indulging and overeating. After that it was straight back to work on some blog stuff, editing photos, cleaning my room from all the boxes I got in recently and getting ready to head back to work tomorrow!

Thursday

Today was my first day back and work after being on vacation and having the holidays off and it was fairly busy! I feel like I got some good work done. I was exhausted this morning and kind of snapped out of it later in the day but it hit me again really hard on the train home. I try my best not to sleep on the train out of fear of missing my stop but today I just couldn’t help myself. Luckily, I did not miss my stop but I was definitely ready to get home and relax today. Thank goodness for a short week, right? As for my outfit today, I was super excited about this one! I got both my top and bottoms over the weekend and I’m obsessed with them. The pants are insanely comfortable and surprisingly flattering and the sweater is super comfy and much warmer than I expected. It was such a good outfit to start off my new year! My pants are sold out because they were part of Zara’s sale, but everything else is available.

Sweater: Abercrombie / Jeans: Zara / Shoes: Target

Friday

First week back is done! Thursday night I literally couldn’t sleep because I had so many new ideas running through my head for blog posts. I love to write fashion posts and I feel more motivated than ever to write those, but I also want to share some more thoughtful posts with you. I want this to be a place that you go for advice and to read something insightful, but also for fashion inspiration. I want to make sure I’m including those thoughtful posts often so that is one thing I am trying to incorporate into my content. Please feel free to leave a comment on some thoughtful posts you’d enjoy reading! If there’s any other blog posts you’d like to read, feel free to leave those below as well!

What I Wore This Week: 12/22/19 – 12/28/19

Ahh yes another start to the week! It’s finally Christmas week, so I am really looking forward to it. I think it might be a slow work week, but I think it’ll be great to finally have some time off to relax, spend time at home and with family and get ready for a new year. What a week we have ahead of us! P.S. I’ve decided I’m going to start linking the exact items I’m wearing or something similar if it’s no longer available. Links will be available in the captions of the photo and please be aware that I use affiliate links, so the retailer may pay me a commission for any purchases made via these links at no additional cost to you! P.S. don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @karenmauritzenn to see these outfits in real time on my stories!

Sunday

After a busy weekend, I was ready to relax today but I had a ton of things to do honestly. I had put off shooting some photos for a very long time so it was really important that I got those done this weekend, otherwise I’d have no blog posts to share with you this week! After finishing up some photos and some last minute gift shopping, Andrew and I spent our Sunday relaxing at home watching our new favorite show, The Witcher on Netflix. It’s a pretty good show, but really confusing for someone who has never played the video game or read the books. Is anyone else watching it?

Coat: Something Navy (similar) / Sweater: Mango (similar) / Leggings: Target / Shoes: Fila

Monday

This Monday in particular is a great Monday because it’s the one right before Christmas meaning it’s the start of a short week! It’s also the day I finally hit my goal of gaining 200 blog followers. This was a goal I had originally set to meet by September 2019, so I’m a bit delayed but super proud that I made it by the end of the year. I honestly attribute this win to consistency as far as posting content regularly, engaging with my audience consistently and just pure passion. Particularly in the last few months, I’ve felt extremely passionate about what I do here on this medium. I have never felt so inspired and like I’ve found what I’m supposed to be doing. It’s more than just a creative outlet for me at this point and I am so happy to say that I’ve gotten here. I’m really looking forward to the coming year.

Tuesday (Christmas Eve)

One last work selfie before I’m off for one day. It’s Christmas Eve finally and I have to be honest I’m not feeling my best. The holidays at the end of the year tend to cause me a lot of stress and anxiety because I know that change is coming. It’s going to be a new year, a new decade with tons of possibilities open and I know that it’s exciting and I am excited for it, but it also makes me feel sick to my stomach. I’m not exactly sure what makes me nervous around this time, maybe being around family too long, or setting my expectations too high, or the fear of growing older that we all have. I’m not entirely sure, but it gets me every year. I’m trying my best to stay positive and enjoy these holidays for what they are and what they represent. I want to take advantage of the time with family, but it’s just hard. I think it’s okay to have those scared/nervous/anxious feelings as long as you acknowledge them and then work to move past them. There’s no sense in wasting the precious time you could have spent enjoying yourself by being miserable, but it doesn’t mean you have to force yourself to fake a smile. Being self-aware is something I work on constantly to get rid of my not-so-good habits but it’s the kind of thing that takes lots of time and patience. I just don’t want anyone to feel bad about feeling bad during the holidays, because it happens to more people than you think.

Wednesday (Christmas Day)

I woke up today feeling not my best again. I really don’t know what it is about the holidays that make me feel so down, but they do. I felt mostly like I just wanted to be alone so I laid in bed for an extra hour and a half this morning, snuggled up with my cat until I finally peeled myself out of bed and made some coffee. I was feeling really exhausted, like I hadn’t slept all week and just not quite ready to take on the day. Once I got ready for the day, I headed over to Andrew’s to spend the day with his family. Once I had been there for a little bit, I was starting to feel better and completely forgot how unhappy I felt when I woke up this morning. It was nice to be with Andrew and his family, to start new traditions with them and I’m happy that I pushed myself past my feelings to be there and experience my first Christmas with them. We ate lots of food and desserts and had some Moscow mules and wine and watched TV and just talked and relaxed and enjoyed our time. It was my favorite Christmas so far.

Thursday

I woke up thankful for a short week this week. I’m back at work again today and looking forward to a (hopefully) easy day since a lot of people seem to still be off today. I woke up feeling really exhausted again, but much better than I did the last two days. I can really feel the weekend coming now and that’s giving me the biggest push to finish out the week strong. I’ve got a busy weekend, so I’m really looking forward to it!

Friday

Finally Friday!!! I woke up so tired this morning, but I had a super relaxing commute because I took an earlier train and no one sat next to me which is unheard of in the morning on the LIRR. I got a delicious cup of coffee and got to work an hour early so I had time to relax, read the news and drink my coffee in peace. That is as good as a morning at work will get I think! As I mentioned already, I’m looking forward to this weekend because it’s very busy, but I also took off of work on Monday and Tuesday next week (which is technically today and tomorrow when you’re reading this!) so I’m excited to relax finally and by relax, I mean get a ton of blog work done. I am already pretty ahead on my posts, but I want to start planning into February at least so I can schedule shoots and plan out writing! I’m really looking forward to having the time during the week to get this prep work done because it’s really helpful to me. I also find it relaxing because it doesn’t feel like boring tedious work to me. I’ve got so many good things coming soon! On another note, I am super obsessed with my outfit! It’s been a little bit warm this week and it made me really excited to get to wear this cardigan that’s a little bit lighter than what I’d normally wear in December. It’s exciting for my creative outfit juices but probably bad for the environment…

What I Wore This Week: 12/16/19 – 12/21/19

Back again for another weekly outfit recap. These have surely become my favorite posts to write. It’s really nice to have a little recap of what I was feeling during each week to look back on. It’s a chance for me to be honest and share my thoughts, without having to dedicate an entire blog to it. It also shows how dramatically my thoughts and feelings can change, day to day.

Monday

I’m dealing with an awful headache, after a really wonderful weekend. I spent some time with my friends on Saturday who I haven’t seen in a few months which was great, but left me feeling hungover and exhausted. Sunday, I woke up to the most wonderful surprise in the world. About 3-4 weeks ago I lost my mom’s engagement ring at the train station. It fell into a little crack on the platform that was big enough that I could see exactly where it was, but small enough that I couldn’t reach it without some kind of tool. Sunday morning, Andrew and one of his friends decided to head to the train station and try to get it back for me and they were successful! After losing hope about the situation, I was so surprised that they took the time to retrieve it. It was a show of true love and friendship and I’m so incredibly thankful to have them both in my life. My mom is said, “That’s the difference between someone who cares and someone who doesn’t”. Fast forward to Monday, I’m still feeling tired and not my best, but I’m looking forward to an easy day and hopefully a good last full week of work before the holidays next week!

Sweater: American Eagle / Jeans: Abercrombie / Shoes: Dr. Martens

Tuesday

Tuesday was a little bit busier at work today which is always nice to have a good amount of work to do. I personally would always rather be busy! I also spent Monday night prepping for Christmas by wrapping up my last few presents (although I still have 2 more I should buy), so that I don’t have to worry about it later on. This is definitely a busy week with 2 holiday parties, lots of blog/campaign photos to shoot, and some time with friends/family. I want to make sure I stay on top of my work and get everything done as early as possible so I don’t have to feel stressed out next week when everything is due. One thing I’ve been sort of slacking on recently is sticking with my plans and it’s causing me minor stress. I always talk about how getting behind on my work causes me the most stress and I feel like it’s getting to me again, so I’m trying to stay on top of things this week to avoid feeling stressed and eventually burnt out! I also decided to wear a super cute outfit today and I’m so proud of it. I even put on mascara which I never do during the week. There’s something about a great outfit that just makes you feel on top of the world.

Wednesday

Christmas is exactly one week away and I am feeling stressed and exhausted. I feel like I have so many things to do that I put off last week and now I’m having major regrets about it. I decided last night that I need to work on prioritizing again and making time for the things that are most important. Unfortunately, I feel like a lot of things are really important, so eventually it’ll just cause even more stress. I’m hoping that I can at least make some minor adjustments to my schedule and routine to accommodate all the things I want/need to do. The main two things I need to make time for are the gym and my digital marketing course I am working on. I used to go to the gym 5 days a week at minimum and in college I always felt like I had time to get my school work done without too much stress. But recently it feels like I don’t have time for anything. Hopefully this weekend I’ll be able to relax and adjust my schedule to make sure there’s time for everything. I’m definitely looking forward to a few days off in the next 2 weeks.

Thursday

Today we had our company holiday lunch at work so I was working in our other office to be closer to the lunch. Because I was out of my routine, I forgot to take a real outfit photo so please don’t mind the one below. It’s the best I could do. It was nice to get to sleep in an extra hour and a half, because I could have really used the sleep. It was a big reminder to me, that while the sleep was nice, I really don’t like driving to work. It’s so nice to just sit on the train and not have to pay attention to anything and nap (which I usually do in the morning). Our holiday lunch was nice, we did a white elephant gift exchange and had some yummy food and got to head home early! I also FINALLY got to go to the gym which was nice. I am completely out of shape, was feeling tired and crampy and probably should not have had a tequila soda at lunch before, but I’m happy I went. I just need to keep that up 3 times a week from now on!

Coat: Vince Camuto / Dress: Target

Friday

Finally made it to Friday and couldn’t be more tired but happy. It’s absolutely freezing this week and I finally got some new knee high boots in from Sam Edelman so I was excited to try them out today. Overall, they are comfy because the heel is not too high (only 3 inches) and they did not keep me insanely warm, but it was nice to have the extra layer of fabric covering my little legs. Tonight, Andrew and I are getting drinks with his sisters in the city after work which is nice too. It’s always fun when we get to just hangout together so I’m looking forward to seeing them, eating some tacos and drinking a spicy margarita!

Sweater: Target / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: Sam Edelman

Saturday

On Saturday, we went to a little holiday party that my cousin was throwing. It was a lot of fun! There was tons of food and drinks and lots of interesting people. It was nice to spend the time with my family and Andrew, because I don’t often get to see that party of my family. We had a really awful drive up and down from where they live, but we made the most of it. there’s just a ton of crazy drivers out around the holidays and it really felt like we got the brunt of it this time around! P.S. please excuse my messy bedroom, I was frantically trying to get ready to leave prior to taking this photo.

What I Wore This Week: 12/8/19 – 12/14/19

This week has definitely started off on a slow note, but the break from being busy has left me a lot of time to get thinking. Recently I’m thinking a lot about the future of my blog, how social media is affecting my self-esteem, and how I can create the best content possible and stay true to myself. I have more on this to come in the next few weeks and in 2020, but it’s definitely at the fore front of my mind lately. Keep on reading to see what was going on this past week!

Monday

This Monday literally felt like it went ” MMMMMOOOONNNDDAAAYYYYY”. The slowest day of my life. Usually end of year is a crazy busy time at work and in our personal lives that we don’t even have a second to breathe, but Monday was not that let me tell you. I went to bed too late on Sunday night so I was exhausted (like most Monday’s but especially this one), my coffee wasn’t helping, and I didn’t have much going on. I did however, get a drink with one of my new blogger friends this night which was a nice change. It’s exciting to get to meet other people who have these kinds of things in common with me, because having a sense of community in this kind of industry makes your life easier in so many ways. I am constantly messaging other bloggers about their photography techniques, how they scout places to shoot, how they reach out to brands, etc. I am so thirsty for knowledge in this department because there are tons of techniques and so much information out there, that sometimes it’s overwhelming. Having girls I can go to and ask questions, complain, and celebrate with makes it a million times easier.

Top: Something Navy / Jeans: Topshop / Boots: Urban Outfitters

Tuesday

On Tuesday, again, I was super tired but definitely feeling better! Like I mentioned in the intro, I have recently been feeling overly concerned about how my posts do on Instagram. They just aren’t doing as well as they used to, no matter how much I post and interact with other similar accounts. It’s interesting. However, this morning I had decided that I need to stop worrying about it so much. Yes, it’s important to get tons of likes and comments to show to brands I want to work with, but not at the risk of lowering my self-esteem. So I decided to post a photo that I liked, just because I liked it. I tried not to be so concerned about how well it would do and just went for it. It was a little nerve wrecking to be honest, but it’s something to continue to work on. My goal is to just create good content that I love and that’s all. I want to show off my creative side, so I’m going to do that in the only way I know how. On another note, it was unseasonably warm today (looking at you, climate change) so I got to wear something other than a sweater today which was nice! I’m really hoping to start looking more put together every day, at some point before the year is over.

Top: Something Navy / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: XLE The Label

Wednesday

This day was fairly busy at work, I had one small but tedious task so I was focused on that and taking my time. I can feel it really ramping up now for the next year, which is exciting for sure. I’m looking forward to see what next year has in store as far as work goes. It was back to being freezing cold again today, so I decided to be comfy cozy and wear a big red turtleneck and some jeans. My mom said you could fit 2 more arms in the sleeves because they’re so big, but I think that’s the best part. Once I got home, I took some time to relax, drink some wine and watch Youtube videos and I also worked on the digital marketing course I’m taking online. It’s through LinkedIn so I can go at my own pace which is nice, but I also don’t feel pressured to do it so it’s taking much longer than it should. It’s just tough to balance all the things in my life sometimes and things like more education seem to take a backseat behind my actual job and my passion project.

Sweater: H&M / Jeans: American Eagle / Socks: Target / Shoes: Dr. Martens

Thursday

Ah Thursday. Thank goodness. I woke up today feeling the most exhausted I had all week. I’ve been getting to sleep really late this entire week and it’s finally all hitting me. However, I saw a post on Instagram and the girl mentioned that on the days she’s not feeling that great, she makes an extra effort to look put together instead of defaulting to something comfy and less put together. So with this in mind, I forged on with my outfit and intention to wear my contacts and a little bit of makeup today. Well, my contacts were bothering the heck out of me today, and my jeans are too big around the waist but at least I got dressed today. I can’t say that I feel particularly better than I would have if I had worn leggings and a long sweater, but at least I stuck with my plan, right? Hopefully tomorrow is better, but I can tell I am feeling some burn out coming soon. Hopefully we’ll get to rest this weekend (once all my work is done).

Top: Target / Sweater: American Eagle / Jeans: Topshop / Boots: Something Navy

Friday

Friday was a pretty okay day, although I was really ready to get home and relax. It was a bit busy during the day, but not overwhelming. I also had some plans that night, but they ended up getting rescheduled for Saturday which was nice to get to relax, but also inconvenient because I had to change all my other plans around. This is actually one of my biggest pet peeves. I used to be the kind of person that cancels plans all the time, but I’ve recently decided that I need to be accountable because it’s so much easier and more considerate. No matter how much I don’t want to do something, if I have plans with someone, I always try to show up. And if something else is actually more important, I give ample notice to reschedule! I’ve just realized that changing plans last minute is really rude and more inconvenient than anything so I do my best to not do that anymore.

What I Wore This Week: 12/2/19 – 12/7/19

The first week back after a holiday break is always the hardest, even as an adult. It was a busy week/weekend so this week was interesting for me trying to get back into a good routine. It wasn’t particularly busy, although I did have a few little commitments to take care of. It was sort of relaxing, while also a bit stressful trying to readjust. As a reminder, you can see all my outfits in real time on my Instagram stories, which is linked at the bottom of every blog post!

Monday

This was my first day back at work after a long holiday weekend and a quick trip to Philadelphia. I wasn’t really tired or anything, but my mind was definitely not all there. This should be a busy week at work because we have an event at the end of the week, but luckily Monday wasn’t too crazy. I got a good amount of sleep and was looking forward to a good day on Monday, and my outfit reflected that! I didn’t try too hard, but I was definitely in the mood to try something new and also wear something other than loafers.

Sweater: Something Navy / Jeans: Topshop / Shoes: Target

Tuesday

This was a great day for creativity! My creative juices were really flowing and I was so excited to get moving on a few projects I’ve decided to work on. I got some more details for a new collaboration I’ll be working on this month, plus a *GIVEAWAY* which is really exciting for me. It’ll be my first giveaway ever, so it’s definitely a learning experience. More details on this soon! I also was feeling excited about creating new content for 2020. One of my goals will be to diversify my content and just overall, be more creative and curated in my approach to my blog and Instagram. I want both to be a place that I’m proud to show off my creative side and test out my new skills. I have a few ideas I want to start with, and I’m sure it will only spark even more ideas as the weeks and months go on. December isn’t over yet, but I feel really excited about the next year.

Wednesday

This day was a bit busier at work and I was also completely exhausted from staying up a little bit too late the night before so needless to say it was kind of rough. I wanted to be comfy, relax and potentially nap. I spent a little bit of time doing some Christmas shopping also (now that all the sales are over, of course) and found a super cute white elephant gift for my company holiday party. Honestly, hoping I get to keep it! I also felt like I needed cookbooks for when I move in the next few months, so I got those as gifts to myself, I guess. I also tried the Irish Cream cold brew and it’s pretty yummy! The flavor gets a little funky if it sits out too long like mine did (because I take 8 hours to drink my one cup of coffee), but it was still good! Overall good day mentally, even though my outfit was a little frumpy.

Thursday

My outfit for this day is a little funky because I had an event to go to for work this evening and I didn’t really feel like wearing my blazer and heels all day long. So please don’t mind my Uggs in this photo. It was a busy day getting things prepared for the program and ultimately a really long day. However, the program went really well! Other than that I think this day was pretty uneventful.

Friday

Friday was nice I got to come in to work a little bit later due to how late the program the night before ran. I have to be honest, getting a full 8 hours of sleep during the week was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I wish I could do that every! However, after a few hours, I was completely exhausted. It was literally like night and day, the change in my energy level from 7:00 am to 11:00 am. I wanted to be comfy this day and honestly, my outfit Friday was one of my favorites for the entire week. It just felt like one of the outfits that I would normally wear every day. Back to my regular old self.

Saturday

Saturday turned out to be a crazy crazy day. Andrew and I started off the morning with some brunch with our friends and it was so much fun! The food was really good, we had a few good drinks and just hung out and caught up. After that we just relaxed and watched some movies until dinner time. We decided to make some pear & prosciutto pizza so we went off to Stew Leonard’s to pick up some ingredients. We had actually never been to Stew Leonard’s before so it was a really interesting trip in itself, but once we got all our ingredients we went over to the Stew Leonard’s Wine and Spirits store also. We got out of the car, everything locked and ready to head inside when I realized that I not only locked my keys in the car, but the car was STILL RUNNING. Luckily, my mom was home and we were close enough that she could bring me a spare key, but holy heck was that embarrassing. Not my finest hour.

What I Wore This Week: 11/25/19 – 11/28/19

I am back again with my What I Wore This Week Series! This past week was the week of Thanksgiving, so the beginning of the week was nice and relaxed cozy outfits for work and then end is more fun, festive looks to celebrate the holidays! I didn’t include the weekend on this one because we went to Philadelphia and I have a blog post coming that features all those outfits, plus what we did. Be on the look out for that post this Thursday and keep on reading to see what I wore this week!

Monday

Monday again! Similar to last week, I was dealing with a horrible headache from the weekend that just won’t quit so I wanted to be really comfy today. I opted for this super cozy sweater and jeans with my new favorite loafers. I also added socks because my ankles are always cold standing on the train platform in the morning. I’m unsure if I love the socks or hate them and I genuinely think that is the appeal of them. One thing that I really love about myself is it’s not often that I feel self-conscious about what I’m wearing.

Tuesday

This Tuesday morning, I woke up feeling a little tired and a little bit like I didn’t want to wear my cute outfit. I was feeling just slightly off this morning. However, I decided to just push through and wear my cute outfit that I planned the night before and I am so happy I did! It was seriously so cute. I wore basically all green and my new green plaid coat that I’m obsessed with and it was such a ~lewk~. I also feel like it made me feel much more productive. Does anyone else feel like that? Sometimes when I wear an outfit that I feel really good about, I truly feel like I can conquer anything.

Wednesday

Thank goodness for a half day! Since it was the last day of work just before a holiday, I wanted to be comfy and cozy so I could relax and feel productive. My wonderful boyfriend got me this sweatshirt from his job earlier this week, so I decided to throw that on with a pair of jeans and some mule loafers for the ultimate comfy-but-still-put-together outfit. I also didn’t want to feel too sloppy, so I decided to wear my big gold hoops to feel more put together. I have to be honest, I am really into jewelry lately and I think I want to really invest in some nice every day gold necklaces, earrings, rings and probably also bracelets but no guarantees on that one. I think it’s such a good way to dress up an outfit. A few weeks ago, @sincerelyjules posted a photo of her wearing a bathing suit, I think, but with a ton of jewelry and I literally said “Wow that’s a cute outfit” before I realized it was a bathing suit. Accessories make a huge difference!!

Thursday

This day was Thanksgiving dinner at my boyfriend’s family’s house so my outfit is a little more dressy than normal but I still wanted to be comfortable. I got this skirt recently at Target to use for another blog post and I realized that I really like it! It was great to wear for a family dinner and tuck a sweater in also. On another note, the dinner was so yummy. Thanksgiving in my favorite holiday and it was so special to get to spend it with Andrew and his family. Definitely the best one yet!
