Weekend In My Life: My 25th Birthday

This past weekend was a little bit hectic but it was a ton of fun! I celebrated my 25th birthday (which is actually today, the 21st of January) on Saturday with some friends with some good food and drinks. I have been really looking forward to this weekend because I feel like I’ve been planning it for so long. It was exciting to see it all come together finally. I hope you enjoy reading about this weekend in my life!

So this weekend was a bit of whirlwind, but I think it turned out okay. I didn’t take many photos honestly because I was living in the moment but I made sure to get just one of my outfit at 12:00 am after getting my Shake Shack order. On Saturday night, I went out for my birthday with some family and friends. There was some snowy/wet weather which sort of put a damper on the evening because a few people couldn’t make it, but we still had fun!

For dinner, we went to Serafina in Meatpacking which is a nice Italian restaurant. They had a really wide variety of dishes on their menu and a pretty long drink list too which was exactly what I was hoping for. We got some calamari for an appetizer and I got eggplant parm for dinner. I also got my favorite wine, Josh Cabernet Sauvignon. It was the best dinner I could have asked for that night.

After that, we walked around the block over to Common Ground NYC which is a bar in the Meatpacking district also. It was about 7:30 pm when we got there but you would have thought it was 2:30 am based on how packed it was! It was nuts. But I was happy to be there and got to dance around, plus it thinned out a bit around 8:00 pm (probably because everyone realized they should go home after being there all day, but it was still too early to go out for the night). I drank my usual tequila sodas and had myself a good time dancing (mostly by myself).

After that, we decided to chill out and headed to the Biergarten at the Standard Hotel nearby. Here we got some authentic German beers and a giant pretzel which was a nice treat! Soon after this most of my friends headed home but Andrew and I stayed out and walked around a bit for some extra QT (quality time) together. We walked uptown and found Mexicue and decided to stop for some margaritas which were really yummy! After that we headed home to finally get some sleep after a long day, but stopped for Shake Shake of course (see photo below).

Overall, I had a good birthday and I’m happy I decided to go out instead of staying home because of the weather. It was a great way to start off my 25th year and I’m looking forward to see what else is in store for me!

Me after ordering Shake Shack at 12:00am: “Andrew, take a picture of my outfit!”

Summer Date Night Outfits

It’s just about summer now, so I thought I would share some updated summer date night outfits. These are half casual and half a little more dressed up, so they are good for just about any occasion. Keep reading to see some of my new favorite summer date night outfits!

Outfit #1

This is one of my favorite casual looks because it’s so easy and simple. These bright yellow trousers are so light and easy to wear even if you decide to eat a big dinner for your date! The little bandeau top is also so easy and such a summer staple for me. To dress this up a little more, you can add on some wedges or heels if you need.

Outfit #2

This is actually my favorite of all the outfits because it’s exactly what I would gravitate toward for a date night. A simple, feminine top and some jeans is always my go to look. I also love to wear these wooden platforms. They are super comfy and very cute. They go with everything!

Outfit #3

This is another casual look, maybe for a day time date! The dress is super light and girly, but a little sexy because of the deep v neckline. The sandals keep it really easy and simple. You can be comfortable and cute!

Outfit #4

I love this dress for a dressier occasion, such as an anniversary dinner or maybe even an engagement party. The print is just beautiful and I knew I had to have it when I saw it. I added wedges to this look to keep it dressy, but you could switch them out for sandals or even sneakers if you wanted to dress it down.

Fancy Fall Date Night Outfit

I said I wouldn’t do many date night outfits because I don’t go on very many dates, but I just keep finding pretty dresses that would be so perfect for a fancy date night. Sue me.

I found this dress at Target a few weeks ago and just about cried when I saw it. It’s absolutely stunning in every aspect. I especially love the colors. The teal is calling my name! I love the watercolor florals and don’t even get me started on the pleats. The dress is just beautiful and so I had to feature it for you!

As far as styling goes, I think this dress is very versatile. It really makes me feel creative honestly. In my photos, I decided to style it with some nude strappy sandals with a suede moto jacket (similar) for a more casual but still fancy look. I found these gorgeous teal heels and I think they would look so good with this and a pearl necklace for something a little more formal. You could also dress this down with a denim jacket and sandals for a more casual girly night.

I also think adding even more color to this with some accessories would be such a fun but still classy look. Some yellow or red added as a necklace, bag or shoe seems very fitting to me! Even some metallic accessories would be great for a fall wedding!

This dress can be styled SO many different ways for all kinds of occasions and I am fangirling way harder than I should over it.

What I Wore: Drake Concert

This past weekend I went to go see Drake in concert for his Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour at Madison Square Garden and I thought I’d share my outfit from that night. The concert itself was amazing and Cardi B even came out with a surprise performance! I love Cardi and Migos hehe. I’ve seen Drake once before and that was such an awesome experience that I was so excited to see him again. He really just puts on a great show and I love the way he interacts with the crowd. You can always tell how much he loves and appreciates his fans. Needless to say I am a HUGE Drake fan and I’m already looking forward to seeing him again in a few years!

For my outfit, I had no idea what to wear, honestly. I knew I wanted to be very comfortable and casual and originally I wanted to wear all white. But the night before the concert I was going to bed and had a really great idea to wear something a little bit grungey and glam with a graphic t-shirt, some leather shorts and Doc Martens. I ended up LOVING how it turned out with some simple and glamorous make-up and gold jewelry.

OOTN: Summer Date Night

Even though I am not currently going on any dates, I shot this outfit with the intention of using for it something else. But I realized it was actually a really cute date night outfit, so I thought I’d offer up some date night outfit inspiration for you.

I literally never know what to wear on dates because I get stuck on how casual is too casual? Or how dressy is too dressy? But then I also remember that if I want the person to like me, I have to dress like myself. If that’s a deal breaker, then it wasn’t meant to be and I probably got a free dinner out of it, so I’m still a winner.

Right now for the summer, you really can’t go wrong with a fun slip dress and you can dress it up or down with platforms or sandals. I love to wear heels and pretend like I’m tall so I’ll definitely opt for some platform sandals. Add on a small purse or crossbody bag to hold all your essentials and you’re all set! Go get yourself some free dinner!
