My Favorite Fall Accessories

As you may have noticed (or not, whatever), I am big into accessories lately. I have a ton of headbands that I love to wear recently, a ton of new pairs of earrings and just got a few new bags in too! Today, I figured I would share some of my new accessories I’ve been wearing a loving lately with you. They are a mix of trendy pieces and classic pieces so I think there is something for everyone here.

Pearl Detail Headbands

These are truly everywhere this year and I am so so into this trend. I love the knotted headband style but I also really love the ones that are covered top to bottom with little pearls. They are so pretty and perfect for brides who have engagement parties and showers to attend! I found these pretty pearl headbands on Amazon and they came in a big 6 pack which was so convenient because I got a ton of colors for the price of one or two at a regular store. The ones I ordered are linked here from Amazon! I also got the prettiest ones from Baublebar, one is completely covered in pearls and it’s just stunning. While the other has a pretty satin band with a thick string of pearls along the middle and is available as a 2 for $20 deal! These pretties are linked here for the full pearl and the one I have for the one string of pearls is sold out but here is a similar one.

Padded Headbands

Okay this trend is honestly a love it or hate it situation, but I genuinely love it. I think it’s such a cute way to elevate your look, without doing too much. Danielle Bernstein of @weworewhat is the QUEEN of padded headbands and she is definitely my inspiration when I choose to style these. I got mine from Amazon and I just can’t get enough of them. Of course, the black and brown are my favorites, but I am excited to try some of the other colors too, like the navy and the green! The link to these headbands are here. Lastly, to keep things really interesting, I also got THE CUTEST Sherpa headband and was so excited! It seems crazy but it’s much more subtle than it seems. Here’s the link for the Sherpa Headband from Baublebar!

Designer Inspired Headbands

I am a huge fan of designer pieces and logos, but I can’t always justify the designer price tag when it comes to something like a headband. I found these really cute Gucci inspired headbands on Amazon and just about fell over when I saw them! They are so cute and pretty well made, considering they are from Amazon. I really like how they can elevate your look and make it look more high end, but without the huge price tag. The Gucci inspired ones are linked here. I’m on the hunt to find a few others that are inspired by other designers as well!

Gold Hoops with a Twist

I am a massive fan of gold hoop earrings because they are so classic, but I also love finding pairs that are a little bit more interesting than a plain gold hoop! I really love shopping for earrings on Baublebar so that is usually where I find mine because they always have such interesting styles. I found these beaded gold hoops and couldn’t decide for a while if I REALLY needed them but I decided to take the plunge and I am so happy I did! Warning: these are pretty heavy so I wouldn’t recommend them for a full day of wear! I also found these really cute, thin gold hoops that look as if the metal was hammered down which I think is such a nice detail and they are super lightweight and comfortable. The beaded hoops are linked here and the hammered metal hoops are linked here.

Pearl Hoop Earrings

These are definitely some favorites of mine recently. I think pearl earring are so classic and elegant, but having them as a hoop can really take the look to the next level. It’s a modern take on a classic staple. I found a pair at Baublebar which are inspired by the Lele Sadoughi earrings that cost a whopping $150! This pair at Baublebar is a mere $42 and from what I would assume, a bit lighter and smaller than the Lele Sadoughi pair. I also found these beaded pearl mini earrings, which are super lightweight and just so stinkin’ cute! They are similar to the gold beaded ones I linked above, but much more wearable for day to day. The big pearl hoops are linked here and the mini beaded pearl hoops are linked here, the white is sold out but they come in a cool Tahitian pearl version.

Designer Dupe Bags

When it comes to bags, I actually am not as fond of designer dupes as I am with other accessories. Bags are such iconic pieces, so I feel that it can take away from the exclusiveness of them when there are similar-but-not-exact versions of them. However, I found this bag, originally posted by Sarah Belle Elizabeth @sarahbelleelizabeth on Instagram and I was really excited to get it. This one is a dupe for the Bottega Veneta Pouch bag that is crazy popular with all the bloggers and influencers, even with its $3,000+ price tag. This dupe is a mere $32 from Amazon, linked here, and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by the quality. The faux leather is really nice and supple, and the color looks beautiful in person. With that being said, it looks crazy similar and I am really happy that she found this! It’s such a cute bag that I can easily see being in style for a very long time.

My Favorite Places to Shop: 2019

I did this post last year around this time and I truly feel my style has changed so much that I thought I should re do it. In the last year, I’ve really focused on having a curated closet with pieces that I will want to wear time and time again. I think that mainly comes from focusing on quality and, of course, just figuring out who I am as an adult. It’s been a crazy, busy, eye-opening year and there has been so much going on, but they have all made me into the person I am now; someone I am very proud of. I want my style to reflect that person everyday. I’m still working on perfecting it and am missing a few staple pieces, but keep reading to see what some of my favorite stores to shop at have been this year.

For Basics:

To me basics means, t-shirts and long sleeves mainly, but a few fitted camis and tank tops also. Layering pieces. Things you wear under other things, not really things to wear on their own (obviously excluding the tees and long sleeves). For these pieces, I almost always go to Target! I love all the basics from A New Day because they are 1) affordable and 2) high quality cotton. I buy t-shirts, long sleeves, turtle necks, camis, and tank tops from this brand because they range from $8-$15, are sometimes on sale and last me a very long time through tons of washes and wears. Some stores I want to try out for some basics are Madewell and Banana Republic!

For Denim:

As you all know, my absolute favorite place to buy denim is Topshop. I have like 20 pairs of jeans from Topshop in all different styles because they just fit me the best! I wear jeans almost every day so having good quality (but still affordable) denim is a major key to my style. Topshop has tons of different styles, shades, and levels of distressing which makes it really easy to find jeans for work and for play on the weekends. You know I’m obsessed with their Mom jeans! I also have a new found love for their straight leg jeans, as well as the Jamie jeans and the Joni jeans. They are simply the best! Next year, I am looking to try out some jeans from Madewell because I’ve heard so many good things, as well as Everlane, AGOLDE, and GRLFRND.

For Sweaters:

My favorite and most worn sweaters are either from American Eagle or Something Navy. I seriously have a ton of sweaters and those are always the ones I choose to wear first. I am always pleasantly surprised by the quality, the color range and the overall fit and wear of them. I love a good neutral sweater, so I love picking up a new oatmeal color sweater or a brown sweater. I also LOVE to throw on a bright pink or purple sweater to mix things up! I wish I could wear sweaters year round honestly. I am really looking forward to trying out some higher quality sweaters from stores like J.Crew, Sezane, Everlane and Banana Republic. These are such classic stores, so they will last me forever!

For Dresses:

Now this is a toughie for me because I don’t wear dresses TOO often. Definitely in the spring and summer because it’s just easier for me to throw one on with sandals and get out the door. But in the fall and winter, I tend to put all of my dresses away and leave them in storage. This coming year I want to wear more dresses so I’m hoping to incorporate more into my closet! When I do wear dresses, they are almost always from either Zara or Target. I think Zara makes the most beautiful and unique dresses and honestly, if there’s one thing Zara does exceptionally well, it’s dresses. Target also makes very cute, affordable dresses for work which is usually what I’d be shopping for anyway. My favorite brand for dresses at Target are usually WhoWhatWear and A New Day!

For Coats:

I am a huge coat person. I think it’s a layer that can really level up your outfit, while keeping you warm and toasty underneath. I have no problem spending a little more on a coat because I know I will wear it. My favorite coats are always from Something Navy. I can’t get enough of them. They are great quality, warm, and stylish all in one. I also just recently got 2 coats from Mango and am over the moon about them! Mango has a really great selection of high quality and affordable coats.

For Shoes:

I spend so much money on shoes from Nordstrom simply because they carry tons of brands! I love to buy high quality, classic shoes that will last me a long time because I need to stop buying so many pairs so I try to buy ones that I want to keep for a few years and not want to throw away or replace the next year. I’m a huge fan of Sam Edelman shoes this year and have recently bought a new pair of beautiful fringe boots and have my eye on the Hai Knee High Boots. I also love the Hazel pumps, they are such a perfect classic shoe. I also love Steve Madden for shoes too, which you all know. Majority of my shoes are from Steve Madden because I think the quality is great, and they are relatively affordable. I think in the coming year, I’ll definitely keep up with the Sam Edelman shoes, but I also want to explore more shoes from Zara because they have funky styles and are super high quality.

For Accessories:

You all know I love to buy my accessories from Baublebar. They have the cutest earrings, usually super festive and gaudy. They also have cute hair clips, headbands, and customized jewelry. I buy from them seasonally usually when I want to keep my outfits more interesting! I always love what they come out with for summer, and I recently just bought a bunch of pretty gold hoops and pearl earrings from them also. I also usually get all my headbands on Amazon also! I like these because they sell them in big packs of 3-8 so you can get a ton of colors, for not a lot of money. I got these cute padded headbands, the pearl/knot headbands, and these Gucci inspired ones all from Amazon for less than $40 total! I have also seen such pretty accessories at Zara, so I think I’ll be purchasing a few of those soon too!

Weekend In My Life: Rosé Mansion, NYC

Last weekend, I had a little outing with my friends to the Rosé Mansion in NYC which is a rosé wine themed exhibit that is considered one of the most instagrammable places in the city. You’re lying if you say if you haven’t seen it all over Instagram over the last year or so. I had put off on going here for a very long time but we finally took the plunge and decided to go and had a surprisingly good time.

This exhibit takes you through the history of rosé and you can do tasting of different wines from all kinds of different regions, from Italy to the Finger Lakes. There’s a rosé for everyone! It has 14 rooms, each with a different theme and always something fun to take photos with. This exhibit is famous for it’s bathtub filled with rose petals!

The exhibit costs $45 plus taxes and fees and that gets you entry into the exhibit, 8 wine tastings (about 1 ounce, which to me is skimpy for a wine tasting), a plastic wine glass to keep, and an enamel pin. If you’re like me, you really only went for the wine or the photos, the rest was pretty irrelevant. So I will be completely honest in saying that it’s too expensive to REALLY justify the experience. The wine was delicious, but if I’m spending $45 on it, I want at least 4 ounce pours for each tasting which is pretty standard at any vineyard you go to. On top of that, it is insanely crowded with literal hoards of women trying to get the perfect Instagram photo. Now I’m not saying I didn’t get my fair share of photos, but was it worth it to wait in line to sit in that bathtub of rose petals? Probably not.

Now I’m not intentionally being negative, I just wanted to give my honest opinion. I will say I had a surprisingly good time which is probably because of the people I went with and the wine I drank. I had really low expectations for this experience, so it wasn’t hard to exceed them. With that being said, I would not ever go again, but if you’re looking to try it out, I wouldn’t tell you NOT to go. It’s a personal preference, and this experience was not for me!

What I Wore This Week: 11/10/19 – 11/15/19

I wanted to share a new series on here because 1) I like to be consistent and 2) I don’t feel like I share enough fashion content which is the whole point of this blog. So I decided every Monday, I’m going to share a round up of what I wore the week before. It’s nothing fancy, no professional photos or anything. It’s just going to be a casual way to show what I wore and a little summary of my week. If you want to see what I wore and did last week, then keep on reading!

Sunday

This night I went out to dinner with my family to a hibachi restaurant and it was so yummy. Hibachi is one of those things that is usually a treat once or twice a year (if that) for me, so I was really excited about this dinner. I was also really excited about my outfit because I had just gotten this leopard suede jacket in the mail that morning and knew I wanted to style it. I kept it simple with just a turtleneck and jeans, but this was probably my favorite outfit of the week.

Jacket: Zara / Top: Target / Jeans: Topshop / Shoes: Something Navy

Monday

Monday was pretty uneventful, but I really wanted to wear these new shoes I got in from Nordstrom. They are so so comfortable and I love the way the front is cut. I also have them in a pretty green suede that I have yet to wear, but promise I will soon!

Sweater: American Eagle / Jeans: Abercrombie / Shoes: Naturalizer

Tuesday

I was feeling brown today obviously. Shades of brown is my favorite kind of outfit to wear, especially now that it’s fall. I may have gone a little overboard with it, but I just really loved this one. I try to wear whatever I want (at least to work) and this made me happy, so that’s what I wore.

Top: Target / Pants: Topshop / Shoes: Something Navy

Wednesday

It was about 32 degrees this day and not saying I regretted my outfit choice, but I feel like I could have done better. I wish I thought to wear tall boots cause my little legs were so cold! I love this purple sweater because it’s so thick that I was pretty warm on top, but these jeans are such a light cotton denim that the air just went straight through them.

Sweater & Jeans: Topshop / Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Thursday

I decided not to make the same mistake as yesterday and wore some gray OTK boots and it was definitely the right choice. These don’t have a super high heel, maybe 2.5 inches so they are really comfy but run pretty small. I love that the top is elastic because they don’t fall down which is what I hate about most OTK boots.

Sweater: American Eagle / Jeans: Topshop / Shoes: Goodnight Macaroon

Friday

Ahh friday. I was feeling super casual and was really excited about wearing my new brown loafers from Target, so I designed my outfit around the shoes. I was feeling a little uninspired though, so I went to find some inspiration from Instagram and put this outfit together! It’s so simple but is truly reflective of my personal style.

Sweater: Something Navy / Jeans: Topshop / Shoes: Target

Four Cute Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

I know what you’re thinking, “Isn’t it a little soon to be planning Thanksgiving outfits?” The answer is no, because I’m light years behind all the other bloggers by doing this TWO WEEKS before Thanksgiving. Anyway, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays so I’m excited that it’s almost here. I truly cannot believe that we are getting into the full swing of the holidays now and 2019 is almost over. It really feels like yesterday that I was celebrating Christmas with my family at home and now it’s around the corner, but I digress. To get you in the holiday spirit I’m sharing 4 super cute and super easy outfits to wear for Thanksgiving dinner.

Outfit 1:

I shared this leopard dress last week in my going out outfits post and now I’m sharing it again for Thanksgiving because ~ versatility ~ is key. This time though, I threw a cozy sweater from American Eagle over top and belted it at the waist for some added shape. I also paired it with these gorgeous leather OTK boots from Steve Madden. I found these boots at an outlet in Sunrise, FL and have literally never seen them since but they are the best over the knee leather boots I can find and I wish could share the link with you. However, this outfit would look super cute, if not cuter, with knee high leather boots like these Sam Edelman ones that I have my eye on.

Outfit 2:

I love this pretty sweater dress and I wish it was still available. I got it from Mink Pink via Revolve about 2 years ago and never appreciated it until this past year! It’s so warm and cozy so it’s great to wear with knee high boots to essentially keep you completely covered up! Here’s a similar sweater dress for you, linked here. I decided to belt it for some added shape and wear my favorite Zara boots for some color. This is definitely one of my favorite outfits!

Outfit 3:

For this one I wanted to be super comfy, yet still put together and for me that means cozy pants and a big comfy sweater. I have shown these Abercrombie belted pants a bunch of times because you know I love them so much! As for this sweater, I think it speaks for itself. I saw it and knew I had to have it and I was hitting the check out button before my mind even knew what was happening. Okay, not really but I do love this because the colors are so pretty together. They make this sweater more neutral because you can wear it with SO many different colors and it will still look like it “goes together”. The sweater is linked here for you and comes in tons of colors.

Outfit 4:

Last but not least, this one is a little more business casual but I think it’s still really cute. I like the idea of wearing trousers instead of jeans sometimes because it dresses it up, but a sweater keeps it casual still. These are the same target pants that I raved about earlier this season and I feel the same way about them now. The sweater is also a recent purchase and I love the color! Perfect for fall and it goes with just about everything I own, because you know I love brown everything. Sweater is linked here for you!

Finally, another big thank you to our friend Eric Dulmovits for his awesome work shooting these photos. He was such a big help and I am so happy with how these photos came out. He does great work (obviously) and was so quick to get these back to us. I’m thankful to have such a talented friend! The Best Fall Going Out Outfit Ideas

I realized the other day that I post a lot of blog posts involving outfits for a date night, which means I never really cater to the single twenty-something ladies that read my blog. So I decided to share some outfits I would wear for a girls night out with my friends in the fall. I really had dinner or the bar scene in mind when curating these outfits, as well as the fact that my style is a little bit more grown up than it was 2.5 years ago when I was in college. So if you want to see what I’d wear out for a girls night out at 24 years old, keep on reading!

Outfit 1:

I really love wearing faux leather and maybe this is a little overboard, but I think it just looks so cool. I got these cropped faux leather pants at Target 2 years ago and they are the most comfortable and surprisingly warm pants I own! I linked a newer pair here. I paired it with a plain white cami from Express. This is the downtown cami that comes in tons of colors and is usually buy one get one 50% off. They are perfect for transitioning from day to night! Last but not least, my faux leather moto jacket (similar linked here) is from Nasty Gal and I basically only wear it if I’m going out to a bar cause it’s not super warm but super stylish. And of course, my shoes my favorites from Louise et Cie via Nordstrom.

Jacket: Nasty Gal / Top: Express / Pants: Target / Shoes: Louise et Cie

Outfit 2:

I wanted to try something kind of funky with this outfit so I took this lightweight leopard dress from Zara and tucked one side of it into a pair of faux leather paper bag shorts from Zara into it, both from about a year ago. Here are a few similar dresses, linked here and here. Similar shorts are linked here. I paired it with these OTK black suede boots from Goodnight Macaroon and I love the way it turned out! I think it’s a great outfit to experiment with and what’s a better time to experiment with your outfits than for a night out with your girls!

Dress: Zara / Shorts: Zara/ Boots: Goodnight Macaroon

Outfit 3:

I thought it would be fun to also do a denim on denim look but spruce it up by wearing washed black denim and pairing knee high boots in a fun color. I got the skirt from American Eagle a few years ago (similar linked here) and the jacket is from Forever 21 (similar linked here) and it is genuinely one of my most worn jackets! The bodysuit is SUPER old from American Apparel and the boots are from Zara last year! The color I have is sold out but they come in tons of other colors and are linked here. I love this outfit because it plays with proportion and texture which is my two favorite things to do with my outfits.

Jacket: Forever 21 / Bodysuit: American Apparel / Skirt: American Eagle / Boots: Zara
Jacket: Forever 21 / Bodysuit: American Apparel / Skirt: American Eagle / Boots: Zara

Outfit 4:

For this last outfit, I went with the beautiful chocolate brown bodysuit from Abercrombie because 1) it’s BEAUTIFUL and 2) I wanted to show that you can wear brown and black together. It such a great piece to pair with ripped black jeans because the satin texture makes the brown appear a little richer and more dimensional than if it were a cotton bodysuit that appeared flat. Again, I paired it with my Louise et Cie heels and this super easy look is complete!

My New Fall Fashion Haul: Abercrombie and Fitch

Flashback to 2005, in middle school when all your friends wore Abercrombie and Fitch and did everything they could to show off their tiny little moose logo. It was the one thing that made you cooler than cool back then and now in 2019, it’s making a come back. Abercrombie has really stepped up with inclusive sizing and an overall revamp of their brand. I had seen tons of people raving about their clothes recently, so I decided to give it a try too! Keep reading to see what I picked out.

Outfit 1:

I have recently been obsessed with the color brown and when I say obsessed, I mean OBSESSED. I think it’s such a beautiful color and it goes so well with everything (even black). I found this gorgeous bodysuit in this brown satin and fell in love. It’s the prettiest color, and fits really well, although the sleeves are a bit tight around the wrist! This bodysuit is great for work because it has a clasp at the top to make it more conservative and then you can unbutton it for after work drinks or date night. I also found these mom jeans that I absolutely love. They are perfectly distressed, super comfy but don’t stretch out after one wear.

Outfit 2:

Similar to the brown top, I found a cream one. It’s not a bodysuit, it’s cropped and has a tie at the waist but the neckline is similar. It’s the same satin-y material which is just gorgeous in a pretty cream color like this one. I paired them with these black button up straight leg jeans and black ankle boots for a more casual look. The jeans fit really well, come up really high on your waist and do stretch out just a bit during wear. This is another look that’s great to transition from work to date night or drinks!

Outfit 3:

Say it with me, “Great for work or date night!” Everything I chose was meant to be great for work or for going out at night because that’s what my wardrobe was missing and I think Abercrombie has a great selection of pieces for that exact purpose. This top is super light, flowy, and cropped and perfect for summer and spring too! Layered with a sweater or jacket makes it great for fall, though. I love these jeans; they are probably my favorites out of all the ones I got! I love the color, they fit really well and make my butt look good too.

Outfit 4:

Last but not least, I found these cute tan belted tapered pants and I knew I had to have them. I was looking for pants that weren’t jeans, but weren’t trousers that I could still wear to work and these felt like the perfect fit. The belt adds a cute detail to the waist and the material is so cozy soft! I also got these camis in black and white because 1. you can never have too many camis and 2. they are such great layering pieces for work/going out with a sweater/blazer/leather jacket/etc.
