The Best Fall Going Out Outfit Ideas

I realized the other day that I post a lot of blog posts involving outfits for a date night, which means I never really cater to the single twenty-something ladies that read my blog. So I decided to share some outfits I would wear for a girls night out with my friends in the fall. I really had dinner or the bar scene in mind when curating these outfits, as well as the fact that my style is a little bit more grown up than it was 2.5 years ago when I was in college. So if you want to see what I’d wear out for a girls night out at 24 years old, keep on reading!

Outfit 1:

I really love wearing faux leather and maybe this is a little overboard, but I think it just looks so cool. I got these cropped faux leather pants at Target 2 years ago and they are the most comfortable and surprisingly warm pants I own! I linked a newer pair here. I paired it with a plain white cami from Express. This is the downtown cami that comes in tons of colors and is usually buy one get one 50% off. They are perfect for transitioning from day to night! Last but not least, my faux leather moto jacket (similar linked here) is from Nasty Gal and I basically only wear it if I’m going out to a bar cause it’s not super warm but super stylish. And of course, my shoes my favorites from Louise et Cie via Nordstrom.

Outfit 2:

I wanted to try something kind of funky with this outfit so I took this lightweight leopard dress from Zara and tucked one side of it into a pair of faux leather paper bag shorts from Zara into it, both from about a year ago. Here are a few similar dresses, linked here and here. Similar shorts are linked here. I paired it with these OTK black suede boots from Goodnight Macaroon and I love the way it turned out! I think it’s a great outfit to experiment with and what’s a better time to experiment with your outfits than for a night out with your girls!

Outfit 3:

I thought it would be fun to also do a denim on denim look but spruce it up by wearing washed black denim and pairing knee high boots in a fun color. I got the skirt from American Eagle a few years ago (similar linked here) and the jacket is from Forever 21 (similar linked here) and it is genuinely one of my most worn jackets! The bodysuit is SUPER old from American Apparel and the boots are from Zara last year! The color I have is sold out but they come in tons of other colors and are linked here. I love this outfit because it plays with proportion and texture which is my two favorite things to do with my outfits.

Outfit 4:

For this last outfit, I went with the beautiful chocolate brown bodysuit from Abercrombie because 1) it’s BEAUTIFUL and 2) I wanted to show that you can wear brown and black together. It such a great piece to pair with ripped black jeans because the satin texture makes the brown appear a little richer and more dimensional than if it were a cotton bodysuit that appeared flat. Again, I paired it with my Louise et Cie heels and this super easy look is complete!

5 Things To Do This Fall: Activity Ideas

Fall is about 1/3 of the way done and I realized I haven’t shared any fall activity ideas this year yet, so here we are. These are some of my favorite things to do in the fall. Keep on reading to see what I plan on doing this season!

1. Vineyards, Breweries, Hard Cider OH MY!

Cute, right? Anyway, fall is THE season to spend every weekend exploring all the vineyards, breweries and orchards nearby. There’s tons of these out in eastern Long Island, so that’s where I love to spend my weekends with my friends. There is seriously nothing better than a glass of hard cider, or a pumpkin beer and some apple cider donuts with extra cinnamon sugar. Some of my favorites that I’ve been to are the Riverhead Ciderhouse for cider (duh), the North Fork Brewing company’s Butternut the Hut beer, and I just went to Osprey’s Dominion and enjoyed their spiced wine!

2. Farm Stands

There’s nothing like fresh produce in the fall, so farm stands are some of my favorite places to stop by. You can buy fresh corn on the cob, pumpkins, apples, all kinds of squash, more apple cider donuts, and hot apple cider too. They are so fresh and it’s always nice to help out local businesses! Plus there’s tons of these out east on Long Island, so you can basically try a new one every week!

3. Food & Drink Festivals

There are tons of these, which I actually had no idea about. You can buy tickets usually on Eventbrite for not very much and they are all over NYC and Long Island. There have been lots of Oktoberfests in NYC this past month, there’s also the upcoming Brooklyn Wine and Food Festival in November. These are great ways to get outside, try some new food and drink yummy drinks in the fall time.

4. Free Days/Nights at Museums & Exhibits

Lots of museums have free days/nights or Pay-What-You-Can days in NYC. Off the top of my head, I know the Whitney Museum has free nights on Fridays which is a great way to start off your weekend. Stop by happy hour before and head over to the museum around 7:00 PM to get in free! The Rosé Mansion also has their exhibit in the city too! It’s not free, but it’s a fun and super instagrammable exhibit that’s cool to check out and sip some rosé while you’re at it!

5. Stay HOME!

Fall is the perfect season to stay home and spend some time with your family and friends. There’s tons of holiday movies coming up, so it’s nice to get snuggled up and watch those with some fresh baked cookies and hot chocolate or wine! Fall is the start of the holiday season and what better way to get into the spirit than hanging out with the ones you love!

Summer Date Night Outfits

It’s just about summer now, so I thought I would share some updated summer date night outfits. These are half casual and half a little more dressed up, so they are good for just about any occasion. Keep reading to see some of my new favorite summer date night outfits!

Outfit #1

This is one of my favorite casual looks because it’s so easy and simple. These bright yellow trousers are so light and easy to wear even if you decide to eat a big dinner for your date! The little bandeau top is also so easy and such a summer staple for me. To dress this up a little more, you can add on some wedges or heels if you need.

Outfit #2

This is actually my favorite of all the outfits because it’s exactly what I would gravitate toward for a date night. A simple, feminine top and some jeans is always my go to look. I also love to wear these wooden platforms. They are super comfy and very cute. They go with everything!

Outfit #3

This is another casual look, maybe for a day time date! The dress is super light and girly, but a little sexy because of the deep v neckline. The sandals keep it really easy and simple. You can be comfortable and cute!

Outfit #4

I love this dress for a dressier occasion, such as an anniversary dinner or maybe even an engagement party. The print is just beautiful and I knew I had to have it when I saw it. I added wedges to this look to keep it dressy, but you could switch them out for sandals or even sneakers if you wanted to dress it down.

Weekend Getaway: Wine Touring

Over the weekend, my boyfriend and I took a little staycation out east to Riverhead, NY on Long Island. We visited a really great vineyard and brewery, ate some pretty delicious food and had a really wonderful weekend!

First things first, we stayed at the Hotel Indigo East End which was a nice hotel! The public space (lobby, restaurant, etc.) were so nice and looked like they had recently been renovated. Being that I work with hotels literally everyday at my job and travel often for pleasure, I have very high standards for my hotels. I will say I wasn’t thrilled with the hotel room, but it served its purpose. I also wasn’t thrilled with the service, but we didn’t spend much time there anyway so it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. One thing that I did like was that they offered a complimentary shuttle to and from the vineyards and breweries nearby!

Our first stop was the Baiting Hollow Farm and Vineyard which I mentioned in my previous post (March 2019 Favorites). I loved the atmosphere here and I think it was just a perfect day to sit outside, drinking wine with my wonderful boyfriend and people/dog watching. I also really loved the Pink Satin Rose! I would have liked to buy a bottle of it, and I honestly don’t know why I didn’t!

After that, we headed over to the Moustache Brewing Company which we picked mainly for the name. However, we were also pleasantly surprised by the beers they had and the great atmosphere! Luckily, we were able to try all 8 of their beers because there were 2 of us and we each got a flight of 4 beers (2 x 4 = 8 in case you missed that math). Some of our favorites included a blueberry and ginger beer (that had 10% alcohol content), as well as both of their ciders!

After that, we went back to the hotel and headed over to Bistro 72 for dinner. The restaurant was CROWDED so it was definitely our mistake for not making a reservation! Again, because it was crowded, the service was not the best but I have ultra high standards. However, the food was absolutely delicious and definitely worth the wait! I got the Maple Bourbon Salmon which was so yummy, I highly recommend. Andrew got a burger that was cooked perfectly and the fries were nice and crispy! We also got bourbon wings which were very flavorful.

Overall, I would say it was such a great experience! We had such a wonderful weekend exploring another part of Long Island that we don’t get to go to very often. Staycations have been such a nice way for us to spend some extra time together without going too far or spending too much money!

OOTD: Eastern Long Island

As an extension of our Valentine’s Day plans, my very wonderful boyfriend, Andrew took me out to eastern Long Island for a fun day of drinks, dinner and enjoying each other’s company. Luckily, it was beautiful weather for February and it really helped to make for a great day! I wanted to share our experience and also what I wore because this is a fashion blog you know. So, here we go!

We started our day at the Riverhead Ciderhouse. It’s exactly what it sounds like it is, a cider house or like a brewery for alcoholic cider. The building on it’s own is very cool and cozy. There’s lots of couches and first come first serve table seating to relax at and enjoy all kinds of cider, beer, wine and snacks. It was super crowded when we got there around 2 in the afternoon, so I would definitely recommend going early! We got 2 glasses of cider to start; I had the Strawberry Patch cider and my boyfriend got the Honey Crisp Bolt Apple Cider and we also shared a flight so we could try a few different flavors! My favorite ended up being a Blackberry Habanero cider. It was delicious! Of course, if we’re spending all day drinking, we need to refuel with some snacks so we also grabbed a giant pretzel and some chips and guacamole. I loved this place, it had such a good atmosphere and it’s probably really fun in the summer. I’m definitely looking forward to going back!

For dinner, we went to a waterfront restaurant called Cowfish in the Hampton Bays. It’s an American surf and turf restaurant with a great drink selection as well as amazing food! We had a reservation right at sunset and it was absolutely stunning. The sky was cotton candy colored and in combination with the drinks and food it was a great experience. I had the seared Ahi Tuna and Andrew had the Mahi which had Cajun seasoning. Both were delicious and we shared an appetizer of buffalo shrimp which was surprisingly good! The service was also good, our server was knowledgeable and friendly which is all you can really ask for, right! Me being the really good blogger than I am, did not snap any pics of the food there or the sunset but don’t you worry cause I got my outfit.

After dinner, we headed home to finish watching the show Lovesick on Netflix. We’re really into it right now but looking for a new show since we’re almost done with it! (Please send new Netflix suggestions, thanks.) It was such a great day and I would highly recommend both places if you’re ever looking to head out to the east end of Long Island!

Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas

It took me a really long time to feel inspired to do Valentine’s Day outfits honestly. I am not typically the kind of person who likes to celebrate Valentine’s Day so I never really get in the mood for it. However, this year, I wanted to really try and come up with some cute outfits for all kinds of Valentine’s Day celebrations. After I put together my make up look, I all of a sudden was really inspired so here’s what I came up with!

Outfit #1

For more formal V-day celebrations, I had to include a pretty red dress for you ladies who let your man or lady spoil you on V-day. Or for you ladies who just like to get dressed. This one’s for you! I actually got this dress for a holiday party, but I hate buying things and then never wearing them again so I thought I would repurpose this dress for V-day. Paired with black shoes and a black bag and some glittery jewelry, it’s a pretty and feminine look.

Dress: Revolve / Shoes: Steve Madden / Necklace: Something Navy / Earrings: Francesca’s

Outfit #2

For something less formal and a little bit more cozy, I wanted to do a sweater dress like this one. It’s still pretty and dressed up when paired with these stunning burgundy leather boots, but definitely more casual than a tight mini dress. I also am obsessed with headbands and I thought this was the perfect outfit to add on a cute headband.

Dress: Something Navy / Boots: Zara / Headband: Something Navy

Outfit #3

For this outfit, I went way more casual with a simple jeans and t-shirt look but paired it with some heels because I still wanted to be a little dressy. That’s just how I am. Jeans, heels and t-shirt is my favorite outfit. This bright pink trench coat is a perfect layering piece for this otherwise simple and not festive outfit.

Coat: Something Navy / Shirt: Something Navy / Jeans: American Eagle / Shoes: Steve Madden

Outfit #4

This is definitely my favorite outfit! I might even wear this for my V-day plans! I thought the pink sweater was just so cute and paired with a leather skirt, it’s a perfect combination of edgy and girly. The white flats really just take the outfit up another level without becoming overly sexy. The pink hoops is just me going over board on the feminine touches. Whatever.

Sweater: Mango / Skirt: BCBG MaxAzria / Shoes: Something Navy / Earrings: Baublebar

Outfit #5

This last outfit is for all my ladies who want to have a cozy night in with their man or lady or their friends, who cares! It’s comfy and cozy and cute all at the same time. I’m really into sweatpants and crop tops with cardigans or sweatshirts. Put on some makeup though and you look like you actually tried!

Cardigan: Urban Outfitters / Top: Forever 21 / Joggers: Aerie / Sneakers: Fila / Earrings: Target

Valentine’s Day Make Up Look

Now that it’s February, I figured it was a good time to do some Valentine’s Day posts. I was also feeling really creative so I wanted to try something fun for my make up look this month. I have been really into bright pink eyeshadow and found this stunning palette from NYX so I knew I had to try use it for this post. Keep reading to see how I got my look from this very bare face!

I actually started using a new foundation on this day and wanted to give a little review of it while we’re here. I started with my Becca First Light Priming Filter underneath. I tried the Too Faced Born This Way foundation and concealer in the shade Warm Beige and Natural Beige, respectively. The foundation is really light actually and is definitely buildable which I’m not sure if I like. When I wear foundation, I want full coverage so I wish it was a little bit more of a fuller coverage from the start. The formula dried really soft which I did like and it lasts a few hours without needing a touch up. I tend to get oily but with this foundation it looked more dewy than oily which I did like.

After that I contoured with my Anastasia Beverly Hills cream contour palette, Laura Mercier Translucent Powder under my eyes and then a loose face powder all over my face. For bronzer, I used my Too Faced Dark Chocolate Soleil bronzer and blended it with my Becca Luminous Blush in Tigerlily. It’s a super bright shimmery orange that is so beautiful for medium to deep skin tones. For highlight, I used my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in 24K Gold which is the most beautiful yellow gold ever. For brows, I used my Anastasia Brow Definer in Ebony and set them with a clear mascara.

For my eye makeup, I used the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in the color Phoenix. It’s got all kinds of pretty reds, pinks, and yellows to make sunset inspired looks. I started off with a mustard yellow color all over my crease and brought it down a little bit onto my lid as a transition color. Then I went a little deeper into my crease with a pretty hot pink color. For my outer corner, I used an eggplant purple color and for my lid, I used a glittery rose gold pink color and blended that with the pink in my crease. I used my Maybelline Lash Stilleto Liquid Liner to create a small wing and followed up with my Diorshow Lash Primer and Volume Mascara and finally my L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black on top. For my lips, I pushed a peachy gloss by Too Faced. I set my whole face with my Urban Decay All Nighter spray and that’s it!

I hope you liked my sunset inspired Valentine’s day look! I can’t wait to experiment more with this pretty palette!
