Weekend In My Life: Rosé Mansion, NYC

Last weekend, I had a little outing with my friends to the Rosé Mansion in NYC which is a rosé wine themed exhibit that is considered one of the most instagrammable places in the city. You’re lying if you say if you haven’t seen it all over Instagram over the last year or so. I had put off on going here for a very long time but we finally took the plunge and decided to go and had a surprisingly good time.

This exhibit takes you through the history of rosé and you can do tasting of different wines from all kinds of different regions, from Italy to the Finger Lakes. There’s a rosé for everyone! It has 14 rooms, each with a different theme and always something fun to take photos with. This exhibit is famous for it’s bathtub filled with rose petals!

The exhibit costs $45 plus taxes and fees and that gets you entry into the exhibit, 8 wine tastings (about 1 ounce, which to me is skimpy for a wine tasting), a plastic wine glass to keep, and an enamel pin. If you’re like me, you really only went for the wine or the photos, the rest was pretty irrelevant. So I will be completely honest in saying that it’s too expensive to REALLY justify the experience. The wine was delicious, but if I’m spending $45 on it, I want at least 4 ounce pours for each tasting which is pretty standard at any vineyard you go to. On top of that, it is insanely crowded with literal hoards of women trying to get the perfect Instagram photo. Now I’m not saying I didn’t get my fair share of photos, but was it worth it to wait in line to sit in that bathtub of rose petals? Probably not.

Now I’m not intentionally being negative, I just wanted to give my honest opinion. I will say I had a surprisingly good time which is probably because of the people I went with and the wine I drank. I had really low expectations for this experience, so it wasn’t hard to exceed them. With that being said, I would not ever go again, but if you’re looking to try it out, I wouldn’t tell you NOT to go. It’s a personal preference, and this experience was not for me!

How To Style Color For Fall

Usually when it comes to fall, it’s not our first thought to think bright colors. Fall is always associated with dark, warm and moody colors but I’m here to show you that it doesn’t have to be. I already did a post about wearing pink for fall, and this time I’m expanding it to a few other colors also to help make the transition easier if pink is not your thing.

Outfit 1:

Of course, it’s pink. You know I love this pink sweater and I’ve shared it quite a few times. I find pink pretty easy to wear in the fall because it pairs so well with the tans, browns and whites that comes with fall so that’s what I did here. I paired my button up cardigan with these cute taped belted pants and some white flats for an easy look. You can throw on a camel color coat if it’s a little bit chillier too!

Outfit 2:

One of my favorite things to do is matching my top to my shoes. Personally, I love to match and have my outfit fit into the same color family. I already owned these purple shoes so when I saw this purple sweater I knew I had to have it. They are almost an exact color match too which is right up my alley! Plus you can always switch out the sweater or shoes for something more neural (or colorful) to get a different look but with the same pop of color.

Outfit 3:

This one is more for those who need to take it slow when introducing color into their wardrobe. I personally, treat dark green and navy as neutrals because they go with so many other colors. It’s bright enough that you know it’s a color, but it’s not so over the top that you would feel uncomfortable wearing it. I think green and navy are the perfect colors to introduce into your wardrobe when you’re looking to add in more color!

How I Style My Favorite Sweater 4 Ways

I’ve found my new favorite sweater for the season and I decided to style it 4 ways to show you how versatile these kinds of pieces can be! In the winter, a sweater is the equivalent of a plain white t-shirt. It can be paired so many different ways, dressed up or down. I chose to style this olive green sweater from Something Navy x Nordstrom and you can shop it, right here. Keep reading to see how I styled this sweater four different ways!

Outfit 1

This one is my favorite because it’s probably the most common way I’d style this. I paired it with my new favorite dad jeans from Topshop and a pair of cream heels. Super simple and really cute! I can wear this for a night out or I can switch out the heels for sneakers and go run errands.

Outfit 2

This one is more fun and dressy than the previous outfit. While the weather is not too chilly, I paired it with these black leather pants and some mid calf slouchy black boots. I love the look of leather and suede boots, and I thought it was a perfect way to style the sweater. A balanced mix of dressy and casual.

Outfit 3

Because the sweater is just a little over size, I thought it would look nice thrown over a button down top and paired with some leather leggings. It’s a casual outfit when paired with sneakers, but I decided to go with the same mid calf suede boots! Perfect for a dinner date when it starts getting chillier.

Outfit 4

This is my work wear way to style this sweater. I love these cream trousers and thought they would look so pretty with the green sweater. Since it’s fall, I was inspired with the leaves and paired the outfit with these orange heels, but you can really take this anywhere you want. You can do nude heels or black, ankle boots, flats or sneakers to make this outfit versatile for any occasion.

My Last Minute Labor Day Weekend Outfit Ideas 2019

Labor Day is quickly approaching so I wanted to drop by and share a few last minute outfit ideas for you! These are all super simple and basic so that you can easily find these in stores. Everything that is still available is linked for you. I hope you enjoy! xx

Outfit #1

I got this super cute tropical print romper a few weeks ago and fell in love with it. It’s beyond comfortable, super easy to throw on, and a great transition piece for summer to fall. It’s by the brand superdown at Revolve, so it’s also affordable. I paired it with this jacket from Free People that I got a few years ago and some white sneakers from Superga that I got at Nordstrom.

Outfit #2

I wanted to brighten things up a bit so I decided to pair these yellow trousers from Something Navy with a red and white striped button up top from American Eagle. I tied up the top for an added detail, and so I didn’t look like I just came from the office! Again, I paired it with the same white sneakers from Superga.

Outfit #3

To keep things as similar as possible, I decided to do regular jean shorts and a body suit because everyone owns these items. These shorts are some of my favorites denim mom shorts from Topshop, but I got them at Nordstrom also. The bodysuit is from forever 21 from a few years ago but this one is similar. They have tons of bodysuits for less than $20! Again, same sneakers from Superga!

Fall Clothing Wishlist

Like it or not, it’s almost fall. August is nearing the tail end of the heat and humidity and the crisp fall air in approaching at the end of September. With that being said, I thought I’d get a jump start on sharing some cute fall clothing pieces that I have my eyes on.

A big trend I’m into for fall is corduroy. I got a little taste of it late spring this year and I’m feeling it again for the upcoming fall season. I think it’s the best texture for the fall, honestly. It’s cozy, keeps you warm and it looks great in all the beautiful fall colors. Below are a few of the corduroy pieces I’ve got sitting in my shopping cart.

American Eagle: Corduroy Mom Jean

Of course, I’m also looking forward to throwing on my coziest sweaters. I’ve mentioned before that I’m on the hunt for cardigans that are short enough to be worn as a top but still comfy and slouchy and it looks like Nordstrom has exactly what I’m looking for. Here’s a few cute sweaters that I’ve got my eye on!

Nordstrom: Halogen Ribbed V-Neck Cardigan (I shared this one during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and it’s still available!)

Now that I’ve just started a new job, I’m also on the hunt for some pretty blouses to wear to work too. I like to have tops that are versatile, that I can wear to work during the week with trousers and also on the weekend with jeans for a night out. I don’t like to dress TOO sexy, so usually pretty printed or ruffled blouses are what work best for me for both occasions. Below I’m linking a few that I think would be perfect for both work and a night out!

Nordstrom: Astr The Label Stevie Peplum Top (this one is sold out in my size but wanted to share anyway cause it’s so dang cute and I’m LOVING this brand!)

Something else I’m looking forward to is DENIM. All the denim. I LOVE DENIM. It’s my favorite clothing piece to wear, although not always appropriate. I’m still obsessed with a looser, mom style jean but I also love really big baggy boyfriend jeans (unclear if I can pull them off so stay tuned). And of course, can’t forget the denim jackets. A denim jacket is the perfect fall layer to go over a sweater when it’s just starting to get chilly out!

Nordstrom: Madewell The Momjean Ripped High Waist Stretch Jeans (LOVE the color of these and the minimal distressing, and can’t complain about the price tag at 25% off!)

Let me know in the comments below what you’re looking forward to this fall!

OOTD: Casual Weekend

Happy Tuesday! I hope you’re doing great today. I wanted to share a quick little weekend OOTD for you. Recently, I’ve been really into wearing simple, quick, easy outfits and this one is exactly that. So here she is!

Bodysuit: Urban Outfitters / Shorts: Levi’s / Shoes: Superga

I put this outfit together with the intention of exploring a new town, having a nice lunch outside and eating an ice cream cone. However, I did end up doing any of those things because it was really hot and I was not feeling my best. But next time I decide to do those things, this is what I’d wear.

Bodysuit: Urban Outfitters / Shorts: Levi’s / Shoes: Superga

I got this bodysuit at Urban Outfitters a little over a year ago and these shorts are vintage Levi’s that I got from Etsy about 3 years ago. They were custom made by the seller to fit my waist and hips. They are still a little bit loose, but they are definitely my favorite pair of shorts that I own. And then for my shoes, I just put on my white platform Superga sneakers to be comfy.

How to Style: Casual LBD 3 Ways

For this month, I wanted to do a how to style with a little black dress, LBD for short that can easily be transitioned from summer to fall. Now that it’s August, fall is quickly approaching and with all the back to school sales, now is a great time to start preparing. I chose this bodycon midi dress from Forever 21 from a few years ago because it’s a great piece, good quality, and super versatile. Let me know how you would style this dress in the comments!

Outfit #1

To start, I just threw this cute oversize jacket from Free People on top and added some yellow sandals. Very easy, and simple. The key to this outfit is that if it gets chilly, you add the jacket and if it’s a little warmer then you can take the jacket off. It’s probably the easiest outfit in the world but still makes you look put together.

Outfit #2

For this second one, I had a similar idea to the first in that adding a layer you can remove is a good idea, so that’s what I did! I took this striped button down shirt from American Eagle and just tied it up in the front. Adding some sneakers makes it really easy and casual also. This top happens to be short sleeve, but if it were long sleeve, you could even tie the shirt around your waist and get a little more of a grungey look too!

Outfit #3

Similar to outfit #2, I went with a tie detail, but this time I used a graphic t-shirt to get the look. This look is super popular these days so you’ll be right on trend, yet still comfortable. Adding sneakers keeps it casual, but you can always switch them out for sandals or wedges!
