How I Styled My Boyfriend For Spring

How I Styled My Boyfriend For Spring

A few weeks ago, someone DM’ed me and asked me about where to find some fashion inspiration for menswear. To be honest, I told him “I have no idea…” but followed up by saying that I’ll do some research. While researching, what I realized is that there’s tons of male bloggers out there, sharing their outfits, where they shop, and overall lifestyle. For some reason, the thought that men also need to look good and feel good, never really crossed my mind until that day. So two ideas came to mind. I decided to do another feature on how I would style my wonderful boyfriend, this time for the spring of course. I also decided to make an Instagram account featuring his outfits, because well, there’s tons of men who appreciate looking good and being well dressed! It’s probably my best idea in a while, and I’m looking forward to sharing more of that with you! Keep reading to see what I styled Andrew in for spring!

Outfit #1

Andrew has very similar style to me in that he likes to wear basic pieces, he usually likes to wear color, and he likes to layer. He also likes to be comfortable too! He got this green long sleeve t-shirt recently, and you know I love green and blue together so I decided to layer his blue bomber jacket over top. Paired with some dark wash jeans from American Eagle and some comfortable sneakers, and he has his first outfit! It’s comfortable, easy to wear, but still looks put together.

Outfit #2

Andrew also got this light tan denim jacket that I absolutely LOVE. It’s such a great piece for him to have and he can take it all the way through fall honestly. I wanted to include at least one totally neutral look, so this one is it. I layered a plain white t-shirt underneath this jacket and paired the same dark wash jeans with it. To keep things light, I decided to pair these lighter brown boots with it. This is definitely my favorite look out of all of them because I love a nice, easy neutral outfit. It’s incredibly flattering no matter what you’re wearing.

Outfit #3

I’ve also mentioned several times that I love these half zip sweaters. I think they are super cozy, but still look like you tried to get dressed. Andrew got this one for Christmas, but it’s a good option to throw on as a jacket when it gets warmer in the spring, but you can’t quite go without a jacket. On the bottom, we did these khaki pants from Abercrombie, which I think look so good on him and the same brown boots. This is another neutral look, and it’s a little bit more put together if you needed to wear this to work one day (if you have a casual office of course).

Outfit #4

Last but not least, I wanted to add some color again! He found this yellow t-shirt a few weeks ago on sale at Old Navy and I love this color! It’s bright, without being too bright. It’s completely wearable. I thought it would be fun to throw a plaid blue button down over top for an extra layer because I also think blue and yellow look great together. Paired with the same khakis and boots and it’s a super casual, I’m-going-to-sit-at-a-coffee-shop outfit I think. It’s comfortable, casual but you still look like you woke up and put an outfit together.

My Weekly Outfit Recap: 3/16/20 – 3/20/20

Welcome back for another Weekly Outfit recap! These are my favorite posts to write because I love being able to share my daily thoughts with you all. Especially now that we have so much going on with COVID-19 and everything in the world. It’s a lot and I have a lot of thoughts about this stuff because it’s pretty scary, but I’m hoping for the best. This week I started working from home and am not getting dressed in real clothes as much, so there may be fewer links than normal but I will do my very best to link as many items as possible. Keep on reading to see what I was thinking, wearing, and doing this week!

This Monday was a little bit interesting for me. Instead of going into the city for work today, my boss let me work in the Long Island office which is closer to my house and much safer than having to take public transportation. There was a little bit of uncertainty this morning because I really wasn’t sure what was going to be in store this week. Eventually, we were told that we are officially working from home starting on Tuesday, which was a relief honestly. I had been getting increasingly nervous about having to go out in public and being exposed to this virus. I didn’t want to risk being a carrier and infecting my family and I also didn’t want to risk getting sick. Hopefully moving forward things will start slowing down as more people start working from home! I’m also looking forward to having a little bit more free time too because I won’t have to commute 3 hours a day for a while. It gives me more time to create new content and focus on my blog and any other projects I’m working on. It’s going to be weird, but definitely for the best!

This was my first day working from home this week and it was a little bit slow as we were still figuring things out. What I liked so far about working from home was definitely the flexibility to wake up later, have breakfast, take breaks when I needed to and having better/healthier lunches. I’m sure the longer I do it, the more bored I’ll get but until then it’s nice! Once thing I want to work on for tomorrow is going to be creating a solid schedule to stick to. I think that will help me feel more productive and not get bored. Overall, today was pretty good and I am happy to be home finally and really focus on “social distancing”. I hope you are all doing well this week and able to stay home!

Today is day 3 of working from home and social distancing and things are not so bad as far as productivity goes. One issue I am having is that I’m starting to feel a bit sick. Since about Saturday night I had a very mild sore throat and runny nose in the morning and night. Now today, I woke up and my sore throat was gone but I’m sneezing a TON and having an insane amount of nasal congestion. I had been having allergy issues the last few weeks, so I thought it might just be an enhanced allergy attack so I took some allergy meds. I also took some Tylenol cold & flu to see if that would help first. So far, I think one of them helped with my nasal congestion, because I cannot stop blowing my nose and it seems like my body wants to get everything out. I’m not having any other symptoms (fever, difficulty breathing, etc) yet but I’m taking it day by day. Other than my nose and foggy head, I feel completely fine so it’s just sort of a mystery for me right now. I haven’t left the house in 2 days, and today I actually went outside for the first time since Monday. It was incredible to breathe fresh air even if it was just to take the garbage out. I think tomorrow I will try my best to spend a little bit more time outside to get fresh air. It’s starting to feel very stuffy inside now.

Today, I’m finally feeling a little bit better than yesterday. I’m still incredibly congested, but I don’t feel like I have to blow my nose every 5 minutes at least. It was a little bit gloomy this morning and in combination with feeling sick, I was just exhausted this morning. But after having some breakfast and showering, doing some work, I’m feeling really productive and ready for a good day. The sun came out too which makes it even better! I finished posting some blogs for the rest of March and into April which is amazing. I’m so excited for you to see those upcoming blog posts! They’re so good! Now that I’m finally feeling better, I’m hoping to see Andrew finally and really get back to a normal routine also. Being home hasn’t been too bad because I haven’t really had this kind of alone time is months so it’s really nice to just be able to wake up and stay home. I’m enjoying my social distancing right now, but looking forward to the future and figuring out what our new normal will be!

Finally Friday and I have to tell you it’s been a week. I think I’m finally getting used to and actually enjoying being home from work. I like having the freedom to sleep in a little bit longer, there’s no pressure to be doing something at all times, and I can enjoy some sunshine while I work. Being home this week has actually made me feel more creative and more motivated than ever to work on my goals. It might sound crazy, but for me at least, this chance to stay home feels like a blessing in disguise. It makes me feel like this is my chance to get truly focused and experiment with my content and growing my blog and social media. I am getting back 3 hours of my day now that I don’t have to commute and having that extra time allows me to many more things done. I have the best feeling that this is the universe telling me to get focused and take advantage of this opportunity. We have no idea how long we’ll be in isolation, so I’m making sure to keep focused on work as much as I can and working on growing. I’m feeling really excited!
