How To Layer Your Way Into Spring Fashion

Being that it’s not quite spring weather yet, I figured I should do a post on how to gradually get your wardrobe spring ready. One of the very best ways to transition between seasons is by layering. Layering is literal proof that you know how to style your clothing well and it’s the best way to make yourself look put together without really trying that hard. I find that styling layers is obviously easier when making the transition from summer to fall, but I’m here to tell you it’s not impossible to do it the other way around! Keep on reading to see how I layered up and styled a few outfits to get my wardrobe ready for spring. As always, I’ll link as many items as I can as long as they are available or there’s something similar!

Outfit #1

I have had this red printed midi dress for nearly 3 years and I have to tell you, it is definitely one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Year after year, I get tons of use out of it in the spring and summer. It’s always a go-to when I don’t know what to wear and it’s incredibly flattering. Now in order to make it a little bit more wintery, I layered this white sweater from Urban Outfitters on it and tucked the sweater into the little string piece they give you as a belt. I also threw on this denim jacket that I got at a boutique in Buffalo to be my third layer. Lastly, I added on my white Jeffrey Campbell boots to complete the look. This outfit is so freaking cute and I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I love it! It reminds me of something Mykenna from this season of the Bachelor would wear!

I have shared this white skirt just about a million times of here, but I cannot get enough of this. It’s so easy to style, especially with layers so I’m sharing it one more time for you. I wanted to make this outfit really neutral because neutrals are my first love, honestly. I got this gray sweater at Target randomly one night when I decided I didn’t like my shirt while I was on my way out for the night. It’s become one of my favorite sweaters since then because it looks so good tucked in! I put my favorite leather jacket on top as my third layer and for added warmth and to finish it off with my black leather Sam Edelman boots. It’s the perfect mix of girly and grungey for spring.

One way I’m getting ready for spring is by wearing my new favorite colors. I mentioned in the last few weeks that I love all the pretty muted/pastel colors for spring and I decided to start incorporating them into my wardrobe. I got this gorgeous pink/purple high neck tank at Target a few weeks ago and have been dying to wear it. I like the idea of having the high neck peek through a deep V, so I decided to layer the tank underneath this pretty lilac color half-zip sweater. Keeping with light colors, I added these light wash straight leg jeans from Topshop and this tan Free People Jacket I got a few years ago on sale. I’m finishing off the look with my white Jeffrey Campbell boots and I love how it turned out!

Outfit #4

For this outfit, I wanted to be more cozy so I knew I had to share these super baggy, white slouchy jeans from Zara. They are so comfy and have become such a staple in my wardrobe. I got the same purple tank from the last outfit in black also (and every other color too) and wanted to pair it with these pants for a nice color contrast. I threw this super long gray cardigan over for another layer of warmth and finally finished off this look with my tried and true camel coat. For shoes, I wore these pretty white Louise et Cie heels because they are incredibly comfortable, but add just the right amount of class and style to the outfit.
