My Weekly Outfit Recap: 3/2/20 – 3/6/20

Hey ya’ll! It’s the start of another week and another weekly outfit recap. I spent the entire weekend just relaxing (for the most part) and trying to get rested and recharged. I’ve had such a long month, that I really needed to relax. This week, I’ve got another light week ahead of me because I’m still recovering and trying to get back into my routine without feeling overworked. So keep on reading to see what I had going on this week!

Man, oh man. It’s Monday! Honestly, I’m not exactly sure how I’m feeling today. It’s been kind of a funky morning, but I’m doing good for the most part. I’ve spent the last 2 weeks trying to figure out what to have for breakfast in the morning because I usually have a protein shake, but I got tired of those. I switched to making overnight oats, but I’m also tired of that so I’m completely out of ideas. I think I don’t like the texture of oatmeal that much, so I doubt I’d like chia seed pudding also. So do any of you have any easy, transportable breakfast ideas??? Let me know in the comments, please! On another note, I’m having a light day so far with not too much going on. Last week, I started a fun new project for myself on Instagram so I can’t wait to share that. I also did some spring shopping over the last week so I cannot wait to start sharing some spring outfits with you also! Hopefully the weather will allow me to actually dress for spring soon… I’m also trying to plan out a vacation in maybe June (?) and figure out budgeting to get ready to move. I feel like I’m spending so much time planning and not so much time executing because I’m overthinking how difficult moving will be! I feel like when it comes time to actually start looking for a place, I’ll get overwhelmed by all the things that need to get done, but I’m trying not to think of that and just relax and enjoy the process. If you have any tips for moving though, please let me know in the comments because I need all the help I can get!

Today is the most spring-like day we’ve had yet and I’m feeling incredibly excited about it. It’s a bright sunny 57 degrees as of right now, and though it’s supposed to rain later, it feels so nice to finally see some sun. I think I’m definitely susceptible to seasonal depression and the weather has a major affect on my mood so this is such a nice treat for me and it’s making me feel really creative and ready to get back to work. Some of my spring clothes I ordered this past week should be arriving by the weekend so I’m really excited to start shooting those outfits. I have so many ideas for new blogs and even some video content (finally)! I’ve read in so many articles that videos are the best way to increase your reach and impressions (which are also the new forms of engagement since likes have gone away for quite a few countries) because people are much more likely to stop and watch a video than they are to look at a static post. Video also gives you a lot of flexibility, I think and you can share some totally different things that one photo doesn’t necessarily capture. It’s going to be really interesting to play around with new content, especially in the spring and summer. I’m also looking forward to making some life changes and adjusting to a new routine over the next few months. There’s lots of change coming, but I’m feeling really excited about it!

Let’s see… this morning I woke up to being block by Instagram and Facebook from commenting on and liking people’s photos for “spamming” my blog link. For me, this is incredibly frustrating because I didn’t do anything different than I normally do when I share my blog links. Every time a new post comes out, for at least the past year, I have always shared it on Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook. It’s honestly very concerning for me as a new blogger, because how do you get more views if you can’t share your content across multiple platforms? To get lumped in with actual spam accounts and fakers, makes me feel really discouraged to use those platforms also. I saw on Twitter (well A saw it on Twitter and then told me about it) that tons of other regular people like me got hit with the same issue, so I’m hoping that it’s just a mistake on their part and will be fixed ASAP. As much as I want to take it as a break from social media, I know that I would not have chosen to take this break if this didn’t happen. I was feeling really creative, inspired, and excited to post recently so this feels like something that could break my stride and be really discouraging. I suppose we just have to wait and see after a few days, but I really hope this gets resolved sooner than later.

Happy Thursday! Today has been such a strange day, honestly I don’t even know where to begin. This morning, all the trains were delayed because earlier this morning one of the trains actually hit a person. It caused a ton of issues and everything was delayed 30+ minutes. However, there was also no one at the train station anyway. I’m not sure if it’s a coronavirus thing, where people don’t want to take public transportation, or what, but it was totally empty this morning. It’s just very strange to see not as many people on the trains. I also am still dealing with being blocked on Instagram, so I wasn’t able to post my new photo this morning to promote my blog post. I can still post stories, so I’ve been trying to be active with that. I have no idea if I can post a grid photo honestly because I didn’t try, but I would hate to post one and not be able to answer comments or do anything, so I decided not to bother. I’m hoping it won’t last much longer, but from what I’ve read, it could be up to 2 weeks until they fix it. Today is just a really strange day honestly. I’m feeling pretty good, but also still feel weird. I just want to get back to regular posting and interacting with everyone, because I really miss it. I’m hoping to just dive into creating more blog content and catching up on some things I had been neglecting. We’ll see! I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated on these things!

So Friday this week was such a drag. It went by incredibly slow for me. It was a really slow day at work for me, so I wanted to head out a lot earlier than I actually could have. It was also a rainy and gloomy day too, which didn’t help the situation. On my way home also, there was an issue near the subway and there were a bunch of fire trucks and probably at least 100, if not more, people flooding out of the subway because there was no subway service. I had already walked 4 blocks, so I had to walk back the other way another 6 blocks to get on a different train. It was such a rough commute and I ended up missing my train and getting home a half hour later than usual. It was just a rough day overall. That night I went to hang out with my friends and we watched the movie Parasite which was actually very interesting. I thought the story line was rally unique and it was really well made. I understand why it won so many awards! Other than that, I was super tired this night so once the movie was over, I headed home and went straight to bed like the old lady that I am.
