Back again for another weekly outfit recap. These have surely become my favorite posts to write. It’s really nice to have a little recap of what I was feeling during each week to look back on. It’s a chance for me to be honest and share my thoughts, without having to dedicate an entire blog to it. It also shows how dramatically my thoughts and feelings can change, day to day.
I’m dealing with an awful headache, after a really wonderful weekend. I spent some time with my friends on Saturday who I haven’t seen in a few months which was great, but left me feeling hungover and exhausted. Sunday, I woke up to the most wonderful surprise in the world. About 3-4 weeks ago I lost my mom’s engagement ring at the train station. It fell into a little crack on the platform that was big enough that I could see exactly where it was, but small enough that I couldn’t reach it without some kind of tool. Sunday morning, Andrew and one of his friends decided to head to the train station and try to get it back for me and they were successful! After losing hope about the situation, I was so surprised that they took the time to retrieve it. It was a show of true love and friendship and I’m so incredibly thankful to have them both in my life. My mom is said, “That’s the difference between someone who cares and someone who doesn’t”. Fast forward to Monday, I’m still feeling tired and not my best, but I’m looking forward to an easy day and hopefully a good last full week of work before the holidays next week!
Tuesday was a little bit busier at work today which is always nice to have a good amount of work to do. I personally would always rather be busy! I also spent Monday night prepping for Christmas by wrapping up my last few presents (although I still have 2 more I should buy), so that I don’t have to worry about it later on. This is definitely a busy week with 2 holiday parties, lots of blog/campaign photos to shoot, and some time with friends/family. I want to make sure I stay on top of my work and get everything done as early as possible so I don’t have to feel stressed out next week when everything is due. One thing I’ve been sort of slacking on recently is sticking with my plans and it’s causing me minor stress. I always talk about how getting behind on my work causes me the most stress and I feel like it’s getting to me again, so I’m trying to stay on top of things this week to avoid feeling stressed and eventually burnt out! I also decided to wear a super cute outfit today and I’m so proud of it. I even put on mascara which I never do during the week. There’s something about a great outfit that just makes you feel on top of the world.
Christmas is exactly one week away and I am feeling stressed and exhausted. I feel like I have so many things to do that I put off last week and now I’m having major regrets about it. I decided last night that I need to work on prioritizing again and making time for the things that are most important. Unfortunately, I feel like a lot of things are really important, so eventually it’ll just cause even more stress. I’m hoping that I can at least make some minor adjustments to my schedule and routine to accommodate all the things I want/need to do. The main two things I need to make time for are the gym and my digital marketing course I am working on. I used to go to the gym 5 days a week at minimum and in college I always felt like I had time to get my school work done without too much stress. But recently it feels like I don’t have time for anything. Hopefully this weekend I’ll be able to relax and adjust my schedule to make sure there’s time for everything. I’m definitely looking forward to a few days off in the next 2 weeks.
Today we had our company holiday lunch at work so I was working in our other office to be closer to the lunch. Because I was out of my routine, I forgot to take a real outfit photo so please don’t mind the one below. It’s the best I could do. It was nice to get to sleep in an extra hour and a half, because I could have really used the sleep. It was a big reminder to me, that while the sleep was nice, I really don’t like driving to work. It’s so nice to just sit on the train and not have to pay attention to anything and nap (which I usually do in the morning). Our holiday lunch was nice, we did a white elephant gift exchange and had some yummy food and got to head home early! I also FINALLY got to go to the gym which was nice. I am completely out of shape, was feeling tired and crampy and probably should not have had a tequila soda at lunch before, but I’m happy I went. I just need to keep that up 3 times a week from now on!
Finally made it to Friday and couldn’t be more tired but happy. It’s absolutely freezing this week and I finally got some new knee high boots in from Sam Edelman so I was excited to try them out today. Overall, they are comfy because the heel is not too high (only 3 inches) and they did not keep me insanely warm, but it was nice to have the extra layer of fabric covering my little legs. Tonight, Andrew and I are getting drinks with his sisters in the city after work which is nice too. It’s always fun when we get to just hangout together so I’m looking forward to seeing them, eating some tacos and drinking a spicy margarita!
On Saturday, we went to a little holiday party that my cousin was throwing. It was a lot of fun! There was tons of food and drinks and lots of interesting people. It was nice to spend the time with my family and Andrew, because I don’t often get to see that party of my family. We had a really awful drive up and down from where they live, but we made the most of it. there’s just a ton of crazy drivers out around the holidays and it really felt like we got the brunt of it this time around!
