The first week back after a holiday break is always the hardest, even as an adult. It was a busy week/weekend so this week was interesting for me trying to get back into a good routine. It wasn’t particularly busy, although I did have a few little commitments to take care of. It was sort of relaxing, while also a bit stressful trying to readjust. As a reminder, you can see all my outfits in real time on my Instagram stories, which is linked at the bottom of every blog post!
This was my first day back at work after a long holiday weekend and a quick trip to Philadelphia. I wasn’t really tired or anything, but my mind was definitely not all there. This should be a busy week at work because we have an event at the end of the week, but luckily Monday wasn’t too crazy. I got a good amount of sleep and was looking forward to a good day on Monday, and my outfit reflected that! I didn’t try too hard, but I was definitely in the mood to try something new and also wear something other than loafers.
This was a great day for creativity! My creative juices were really flowing and I was so excited to get moving on a few projects I’ve decided to work on. I got some more details for a new collaboration I’ll be working on this month, plus a *GIVEAWAY* which is really exciting for me. It’ll be my first giveaway ever, so it’s definitely a learning experience. More details on this soon! I also was feeling excited about creating new content for 2020. One of my goals will be to diversify my content and just overall, be more creative and curated in my approach to my blog and Instagram. I want both to be a place that I’m proud to show off my creative side and test out my new skills. I have a few ideas I want to start with, and I’m sure it will only spark even more ideas as the weeks and months go on. December isn’t over yet, but I feel really excited about the next year.
This day was a bit busier at work and I was also completely exhausted from staying up a little bit too late the night before so needless to say it was kind of rough. I wanted to be comfy, relax and potentially nap. I spent a little bit of time doing some Christmas shopping also (now that all the sales are over, of course) and found a super cute white elephant gift for my company holiday party. Honestly, hoping I get to keep it! I also felt like I needed cookbooks for when I move in the next few months, so I got those as gifts to myself, I guess. I also tried the Irish Cream cold brew and it’s pretty yummy! The flavor gets a little funky if it sits out too long like mine did (because I take 8 hours to drink my one cup of coffee), but it was still good! Overall good day mentally, even though my outfit was a little frumpy.
My outfit for this day is a little funky because I had an event to go to for work this evening and I didn’t really feel like wearing my blazer and heels all day long. So please don’t mind my Uggs in this photo. It was a busy day getting things prepared for the program and ultimately a really long day. However, the program went really well! Other than that I think this day was pretty uneventful.
Friday was nice I got to come in to work a little bit later due to how late the program the night before ran. I have to be honest, getting a full 8 hours of sleep during the week was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I wish I could do that every! However, after a few hours, I was completely exhausted. It was literally like night and day, the change in my energy level from 7:00 am to 11:00 am. I wanted to be comfy this day and honestly, my outfit Friday was one of my favorites for the entire week. It just felt like one of the outfits that I would normally wear every day. Back to my regular old self.
Saturday turned out to be a crazy crazy day. Andrew and I started off the morning with some brunch with our friends and it was so much fun! The food was really good, we had a few good drinks and just hung out and caught up. After that we just relaxed and watched some movies until dinner time. We decided to make some pear & prosciutto pizza so we went off to Stew Leonard’s to pick up some ingredients. We had actually never been to Stew Leonard’s before so it was a really interesting trip in itself, but once we got all our ingredients we went over to the Stew Leonard’s Wine and Spirits store also. We got out of the car, everything locked and ready to head inside when I realized that I not only locked my keys in the car, but the car was STILL RUNNING. Luckily, my mom was home and we were close enough that she could bring me a spare key, but holy heck was that embarrassing. Not my finest hour.
